I don't think most people are getting what this song is about. It's how they're both screwed because of their fucked up life habits, but still addicted to this life (both literally and metaphorically), but they hate it and are scared. They just want to go back to the days when they were a happy couple.

So, yes, this song is about drugs and sex, but more about how he and the girl want a life with more, but are scared to change and at the same time scared to stay the same. Do doo do.

The first 'high' is always the best, then they gradually get less effective the more you use meth, (this leads many users to overdose in order to try and achieve the same effects as the first 'high').
