Sep 21, 2008 was the last day and I haven't been on one since. There's nothing in the forecast right now for any future vacations. Prior to this, it was July or August of 2000... 8.1 years ago.
In the real world, "pixels per frame" is an invalid unit of measure - there are no frames in the real world (perhaps, though, it may be 5.8E-44 of a second, Planck Time). When referencing a monitor, even this varies. The solution, in a sense, is around 1E-41 meter or something, essentially nothing and something too fine for technology to measure, even for the laws of physics. In mph, it was more around 3 mph (walking speed; 1.4 m/s mental conversion) as it passed nearest to me.
I live in Duluth, this isn't a chance encounter, these ships are coming and going all the time, especially in the warmer seasons. Glad to see you enjoyed your time in our city; I've read your site off-and-on for a while, was surprised to check up on your account and see you had visited here!
It's much better without the glitch the camera has with video recording. I have a few photos on my site that show the true color version (or, at least, something close to true color).
I'm in Minot right now, of ND, my home area. I went on a trip to Minneapolis from Sep 13 to Sep 21 of 2008, and it became my first vacation in 8.1 years. On Sep 19, I went on a road trip to Duluth from Minneapolis. The video series involves my vacation, so I have it marked as "Trip to Minneapolis".
Ulil, it's good to see you got out and enjoyed yourself a bit! You should do this more often and film more when you go out! There is a huge world to discover! Peace!
Huge is right. I'm having a hard time comprehending the size of this very sphere we live on called Earth. And if Earth is big, try the universe. I may be going to South Dakota next year, but the odds, as I feel, are about 30% at the moment. This may go up or down as time goes on. This trip was the same.
It's "Minneapolis", with an "a". I don't know how it got that name, but I saw on playing cards when I was at the Mall of America that has something to do with water and city. I don't recall the exact details, but the "minnea" or "minne" part means "water" and the "polis" or "apolis" means "city". This means Minneapolis is "water city".
I do have a fear for water, but only water deeper than I am tall (since I can't really swim). Going in lakes, pools, etc. was eliminated around July 21 of 1997, thanks to YMCA camp.
Glad to see you got to enjoy going out on a little adventure. Hope you take the opportunity when it presents it's self to travel some more. Theres alot out of there to be explored.
I do. There's about a 30% chance I may go to South Dakota near the Black Hills area next year. I feel as if it's 30%. I've dealt with one odds roller coaster already. On these trips, it really makes you wonder how big the planet really is. 70 mph down a highway seems pretty fast, but in just one second, 110 feet, that's hardly anything. The 9-hour trip (8 ignoring rest stops, gas, etc.) covers only a very tiny portion of the planet. It's that aspect that amazes me.
I visited the Hill City SD a few months ago, it was neat. I recommend checking out their dinosaur museum if you have an interest in things like that. (Do dinosaurs/fossils have high compatibility?)
I was actually thinking the same thing the other day. I always dread going to see my brother [Just because of the long Drive] and it amazes me that i only went like an inch on the US map. xD
A friend of mine lived in Minot, ND for a brief period of time. He mentioned that there is a saying in Minot that goes, "Why not Minot?". Are you familiar with this saying?
that was close

For us, it was a chance encounter. It was the only day that we were going to Duluth, and at the time, it was the only ship that was going that day.

was it cold?
computerman1081 3 years ago
With the high 20 mph wind, and the sudden misting due to the ship, it was a bit chilly.

Cool. Minneopolis is a really funny name for a city :)

Pretty impressive! Glad to hear you had a vacation. The purple streaks/lensflare/?? give the footage an interesting look!
timdrage 3 years ago
The lensflare does not occur at all with still photos, only videos, hinting to a bug with the software.

You were in Minneapolis and you didn't stop by to say hi? I'm hurt!

The videos are still better with this kind of disorderly noise instead of no sound at all, if you ask me.

I really like these videos; a nice break from your usual video game explorations.

I'm not familiar with it. I've heard of it, but very rarely (the first time was actually from a forum, not any of the locals).
