You're right though--if they weren't all banged up, they might be giving the Braves & Marlins a run for it, and if the Phils were all banged up, the Mets might be a little closer. They're what--like 18 games back or something like that, and 18 games is a HUGE difference.

I TOTALLY forgot to say from the beginning about Lidge. He is a 360 turnaround from his 48-48 saves last season, & the Phils are STILL like 7 games ahead, & Lidge has blown a MLB high 10 games now. Imagine if that was only half of that ( a league average of 5 ), the Phils would be about 12 or 13 up in the division--which means the Braves & Marlins would be almost eliminated, & Mets would have been eliminated last month.

Well, we will never know that. The point is, the Phillies and Mets are where they are both at, not by luck, but by the team they have created that is on the field. True, maybe the Mets would be giving us a run for their money they have wasted, but maybe not. The Rays mowed thru probably the most solid division ( outside of Baltimore ) last year, and they did it with one of the lowest payrolls in baseball. Now that is classy. I definitely disagree with is that over the course of the last 3, or 4 seasons the records between the two teams, and I don't give a rats ass about how we fared against each other, but the rest of the ML teams. The Phillies have fought harder, have been more determined, have come from behind FAR more times than the Mets have. The Phillies turned it up a few notches when it has really counted. That is a winning team, and the Phillies proved it last year; regardless of who they put on the field.

One thing you missed fatty-six of the games the Mets' games against the Phillies were pitched by Adam Eaton and Kyle Kendrick. Those resulted in 5 Phillies losses. Guess what two pitchers aren't in the rotation any more. Two of NY's wins over the Phils were aided by deliberately bad calls on 4/9 and 7/7. And the AW-fense will be a probelm when Tatis falls back to earth and Delgado shows his 2nd half was a fluke. Enjoy watching K-Rod's arm fall off while the Mets slide into a distant 3rd place.

yo fat ass we didnt need anybody over the offseason because the team we have now made the playoffs and won the world series something mets fans wouldn;t know about. and if you were paying attention our bullpenn dont blow saves either so i guss your screwed.
