  • I REALLY want to be an orthopedic surgion, Even though I'm only 14 years old. Whatever, I'm passing all the advance classes in my high school

  • Orthopedic surgery will always be my life long goal.. I truly hope i can become one

  • @SuperDROIDuser good luck!

  • keep pressing 1 lol sounds and looks like he is beat boxing.

  • So how many years in total to be an orthopedic surgeon?

  • @sk8terbruhXD4653

Four Years Undergrad + Four Years Med School + Six Years Residency

  • @sk8terbruhXD4653 I would say around 16 Years! Four years undergrad, four years Med School, Six years or more in Residency, and additional year or two (if you choose) of post-graduate training or Fellowship. Then after completion of all your training, you can take the Board Exam as an Orthopedic Surgeon and upon passing, you are "Certified" as an Orthopedic Surgeon ready to practice in the community! Its alot of fuckin schooling but it pays off in the end ; ) After all that, you party XD

  • watch this video type this "RAsh0Di6b1o"

    at the end of

    y0u+ub3.c0m/watch?v=

  • watch this video type this at? the end of watch?v= -----> RAsh0Di6b1o

  • You actually don't become Board certified until you've had about 2 years of practice experience.

  • Medical school will not be competitive for long... as reimbursements go down, so will applicants....

  • @esmam123 Don't worry, competition will stay stiff as always, even if the applicant pool goes down a bit, the retarded premeds who listen too much greys anatomy will still overflow from undergrad.

  • @esmam123 thats good

  • i want to become a Orthopedic Surgeons when i graduate high school and i want to know how much will all the education requirements will cost me someone please respond and thank you

  • ORTHAPEDIC SURGEON!!! ;) <3

  • this video bears no mention to extracurriculars. theyre equally as important as GPA and MCAT scores.

  • i am 14 and already have over a 4.0 in high school taking first in my science class my dream is to become an orthopedic surgeon or a bariatric surgeon but trust me u want to go to baylor it is the world leading college in medical studies

  • @WhiteandPimpin405 nikka u only in freakin high school stop worryin bout medical skool....get into kollege first kid

  • @WhiteandPimpin405 thats what i thought i got student of the year in my high school with a gpa of 4.0 and when i went to medical school it got 10 times as hard and my gpa droped dramatically. im saying dont get so caught up because med school makes high school look like kindergarden. PLus you have to write the MCAT which i only got a 70 and i studied for a year but i passed

  • @xbobthejokerx Umm I don't think high schools use the 4.0 GPA system. Also, I'm not trying to be ignorant or anything, but your page says you are 15 =/

  • I am completing my final year of Undergraduate and have been accepted to medical school for the entering class of 2010. Orthopedic surgery has been my dream since shadowing an orthopedic resident as a sophomore. What should I do during medical school, besides obtaining a high class rank and doing well on my step exams, to be competitive for a orthopedic surgery residency.

  • @wreschly be patient because you will need to study a lot and you will have around 10 more years of practice. and dont give up.

  • @wreschly Get good grades, but, don't be a typical medical school belligerent asshole. Extracurrical activities is what seperates the pros from noobs. Ive seen too many kids, who only study, and just lose it, when they get into the real world.

My advice; live life, have fun, work hard.

  • @Lolercopterz I find that one of the best ways to be a succesful orthopedic surgeon is to just 'get out there'. Build some furniture, fix a car and you almost instantly develop mechanical skills for example. That's the great thing about orthopedics, you need both mechanical and intellectual skill.

  • @eBiology Yup, thats why 99% of people are weeded out.

  • @Lolercopterz Good point, considering many medical students wishing to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery have no prior hands-on experience, relying solely upon 'book smarts'. You hit the nail on the head.

  • What do you call an american that is an orthopedic surgeon? STUPID AMERICAN!! :P

  • @Esvarid ummm your kinda an idiot. no offense :D

  • i'm currently a physical therapy student. is it advisable for me to proceed to ortho med? i really want to be a surgeon.

  • @plplmi09 yes if this is what you want to do, do it!

  • A CRNA gets paid $75-100/hr and is only 6 yrs of school

  • @5959512

Do not let the length of education scare you. Yes orthopedic surgeons spend on average about 14 years post high school education, but if orthopedic surgery is your dream, stick with it!

besides you will eventually turn 32! Orthopedic surgeon or not, is completely up to you!

  • im in college, and am thinking about taking the proper courses and pursuing med.

  • this advice is as good as "go to school"

  • I just became an orthopedist.

  • @seversebastian hey, im looking to become an orthopedic surgeon, I'm 14. going into highschool next year. ad just wondering was it hard to fulfill this practice? I'd love to become an orthopedic surgeon(:

  • @0352413 why dese lil nikkaz worryin bout med skool wen dey in high skool??? get into kollege first idiot den c wat u wanna b geez

  • @itzdatnukka Wow nice spelling.

  • Comment removed

  • @seversebastian

i bets the jobs really interesting, im in uk and want to become one

  • @seversebastian congrats!!

  • @seversebastian Really thats so awsome

  • @seversebastian Was it as difficult as everyone says it is?

  • @seversebastian Congratulation :), I want to be a doctor just like my father by the way he is also an orthopedist

  • good luck to everyone, i want to be a surgeon too, i think its so interesting to be able to actually help people and make a difference. I hate how it takes sooooo long though, like come on, your looking at a minimum of 14 years of schooling....I'd be 32 when I start :O!

  • If you want 100K, but at a fraction of the time, do pharmacy. Its only 6 years in comparison. If you like Chemistry, then I'd suggest it.

  • yea, my friend wants to be a pharmacist, but i don't wanna do that, like i don't an interest in chem, i like bio and math,

but yea, that's wat i tell ppl too, like if someone doesn't like bio, but is good at math then i tell them that they should do engineering or something, or if they like chem, do pharmacy

  • this video helps cause my life long goal is to become an Orthopedic Surgeon

  • mines too...good luck

  • @74441117 same!

  • @74441117 Same here

  • @74441117 Same here

exept i want to be a pediatric orthopedic surgeon

  • @74441117 Same here.

But the thing right now is that im enlisted in the Navy..gotta get this over with first.

Spending my time hitting the books for my degree =)

  • Me as well. I just got motivated to do well in school now as I'm in grade eleven

  • I am VERY VERY VERY interested in becoming a surgeon. I used to be an artist: precision was my foundation to success (obtained a young master's artist award in Junior High School). Orthopedic surgery fascinates me the most admittedly. The only thing I am worried about is obtaining a high GPA and passing Calculus! Other than that, I am ready and willing for the long-haul!

  • best of luck man!

i am in a similar situation as you.

  • good luck! i want to become a surgeon too!

  • @Gipuloe if art and science is your thing then you should consider dentistry. You can do beautiful work as a prosthodontist and make a killing without dealing with the stress of being a surgeon.

  • @jawseg

That's a good point. I have been wondering where I should go in terms of Medicine, even Dentistry. I know I have what it takes (I have a 4.0, have been invited to numerous honors programs affiliated with campus and on a national level, am involved in quite a few extracurricular activities, volunteer often, and tutor like crazy). It's really a question at this point: where do I go? Wouldn't helping people smile be fun as well? Thank you for commenting. I am still debating on what to do.
