I was there Opening Night, and it's really not as bad as you guys are making it out. There was ONE girl who shouted out "I love you Darren" but besides that, all the "screaming" was in appropriate places. There IS a polite way to scream. It's the wooing during applause. All of that was respectful. So just get over it.
I'm sorry that some audience members can't control themselves. I'm going to see Darren in this on the 14th, and while I may be screaming "MARRY ME DARREN!!!" inside my head, I will try my best not to verbalize it.
i was standing right next to one of the press camera's opening night! Darren was SPECTACULAR!! i was so proud of him. the entire cast was Amazing!!! one of my new favorite musicals! one girl screamed "i love you darren" in a random scene and the entire audience groaned in annoyance. so the majority of the audience was completely respectful except that one girl and apparently a 50 year old man. haha
I love this video! I had never heard of Darren until his name started popping up on the Glee IMDB message board, so I looked up his bio and didn't recognize anything he had been in, except the one guest role as a hippie on an episode of Cold Case. But when he first appeared as Blaine and starting singing "Teenage Dream", I immediately knew that he was going to be a big star!
I saw Darren in Glee Live and in concert at Six Flags last summer and would love to see him perform live again!
Ok I can understand the screaming of fan girls cause I would do it myself, but not during a Broadway musical! Anyways so proud of Darren he's finally achieved what he wanted!!!
So happy for Darren, it sounds funny to say I'm proud, but I am. I always knew he would be on Broadway, someday, but who knew he would get there so fast. I paced the floor waiting to the reviews to come out...and when I heard them I was overjoyed..I love the comment that he is a triple threat and the interviewer said he would one day be one of those rare performers that will have an Emmy, a Golden Globe, an Oscar and of course a Tony. (EGOT). I TOTALLY AGREE. WELL DONE DARREN CRISS, WELL DONE.
Darren doesn't look tired! This is the Darren that we've been missing in interviews. He's finally had a break from his insanely busy schedule to get some sleep. Only Darren could call being on Broadway a break.
i love when he says from your mouth to god's ears in interviews. just shows how humble he is and that he's taking his new fame for what it is, a blessing.
I completely agree that it can be very immature to shout and yell during a broadway show. Don't get me wrong, I utterly love Darren and am thrilled to see him achieve his goals and make his Broadway debut.
However, on the other hand, as an actress myself, I know how encouraging an active audience can be for a cast. As they all said in the beginning, the cast loved the audience. Having a responsive audience can really help to power a performance. And Darren also seems very touched by all the love
Ok, we are so proud of him and yesterday I was one of the craziest trying to trend Break A Leg Darren, but folks, please remember: MANNERS. It's a Broadway show, not a live concert, it is due respect and property. I'm a Gleek fan and I will be the first jumping up and down in the air screaming if I ever saw him, but this is a totally different enviroment, be a PROPER FAN. Manners, fellow fans, manners.
@leiron1001 EXACTLY. I'd also be all over the place if I saw him, but screaming "I love you" in a broadway theatre..... it's embarrassing for the fandom, quite honestly.
@leiron1001 I went thursday and two girls had there legs crossed on the side thingy when your on row A of the balcony and they screamed "I LOVE YOU DARREN" I wanted to slap them. omg. And some ran out about 20 min before the end (aka darren.s big dancing number) to get in line for a chance to see him come out. me not proud
I think it's really unpolite to scream during a musical... it's not a concert. A musical tells a story and you shouldn't disturb it by yelling stuff. Anyway, I think it's great that Darren finally made it on Broadway, he looks happy and he definitely has a reason to be proud of himself. :)
@phantomrox87 I know what you mean, but you can't just assume it was a gleek. You know as well as i do that there is a chance that it was a starkid, or maybe even some random ass who was trying to make his fans look bad or something. But its not fair to put all the blame on the Glee fandom. i would like to believe that it was not a starkid, but we have no way of knowing for sure until someone (if anyone) ever comes forward.
Darren You were never a NOBODY! You were always a SOMEBODY, will always be a SOMEBODY. For some of us you aremore than SOMEBODY! You are Darren Criss! I'm so proud of you!
I love lookin' at his expressions!!!

How embarrassing talking back in the show. These people are idiots and rude to their follow audience members. Darren don't encourage it.

Screaming during a musical is not being a fan its being a major disrespect to the actors and actresses. It's a story not a concert

Is it bad that I squealed when they interviewed Christopher J Hanke?
I feel as if Starkid's have more etiquette then Gleek's and would not scream out "I LOVE YOU DARREN" in a performance.
