Dk's tanking debuff's are applied through their diseases, frost fever=atk speed reduction, scarlet plaque=atk power reduction I had to look into this as well cause I wondered why all the dk tanks wouldnt have such awesome tools. Also a bear spec makes skull bash(interupt) a 10sec cd

i cannot concurr more on your evaluations, as a pally it sucks cos you do not have as much control on your toon , warrior has it. the pally class plays the game for you,simply boring.

I play a warrior tank, but trying to get gear now suks. I have every best in slot from heroics and a few raids but people still won't risk bringing you because you gearscrore isn't 5700+. However playing a warrior is always fun and keeps you busy.

lol kinda disappointed i just made a dk tank i don't really know what to choose in the talent trees i have seen that blood is which works better as mitigation and agro actually frost spec makes me like WTF i really need advices its so disappointed this is my second dk but my frist dk i made it before the last patches and it was much better holding agro than now it was frost but now i made this one and i had to go blood tho still i'm kinda confused it sucks WTF BLIZZARD ????? !!!!!!!!

I am new to tanking... I have a DK tank and i have great guild that allows me to put their lives at risk as I gain experience... I like DK tanking (i have a lower lvl pally) as it is very 'active" and it keeps me on my toes... i think that the dk have a lot of utility in a tanking situation... I would have to say that dk probably make better OT that MT... just my opinion... i plan to lvl a tank of each class because I am really enjoying being the center of attention lol keep posting vids thanks!

Have you seen the new Cataclysm tree they set up for Pallies yet? I keep trying to set up what i feel will be a good setup for it and it's feeling.. rather difficult.

and also it's cool to see a tank tanking a huge ass boss with a 2 handed axe and no shield :P

Very nice information, and exactly the same ranking as I have. I switched to warrior some time now and you're completely spot on.

However, some notes: Just like druids, paladins miss a reliable interrupt too (unless I'm totally missing something), HoJustice is on a long CD (for an interrupt, even when talented) and on the GCD, if you're horde you have arcane torrent but that's on a 2m CD so not that reliable either...

@Horvarthisness You, like a lot of paladin tanks, are forgetting the god given gift that is Holy Wrath. Probably won't be as useful come Cataclysm as it is now, but is better than sex in a lot of ICC content. Useful in other situations too, add tanking on Anub, for example.

@Zbrandoz The 5% health buff only applies to base health, and it's extremely small. Warstomp is cool but is a cast and you are undefended while casting. Orcs provice a little bit more offensive firepower, but not alot.

Personally, I suggest whatever looks cooler in plate.

I personally play a warrior tank and feral alt tank but i don't understand why you say dk's take more dmg? I mean druids can only dodge atks and personally in icc i find my druid to be much more squishy than my warrior. For example on my warrior i can 1 man the beginning trash even in 25man, but on my druid ive tried having aggro on all mobs and i take massive hits, sometimes dieing

@silverstonewebcam while druids can only dodge, they do have a much higher dodge % than other tanks, generally equal to a plate tank's parry/dodge. The downside is that thier savage defense, while awesome on a single target, is horrible on trash compared to shield based tanks. However, you have barkskin that you can be using often to help mitigate a lot of the damage. Also, a druids armor does not scale as well as plate tanks stack +armor gear in ICC, so they need heavy armor trinkets to balance

@drz197 True, my druid has 21% dodge after the nerf and about 25% dodge while my idol is proced, my warrior after the nerf has 8% dodge, about 23% parry and about 20% block

Awesome video, you're incredibly knowledgeable. I'm my guild's off-tank as a paladin and the main tank is a DK. He's insanely good and makes my job so much easier, especially because my gear isnt great and i only have about 5300"GS". However he does have 50k unbuffed hp and we raid with the 25% buff so the problems you mentioned are a little less severe for us, but I failed at DK tanking myself so I know for a fact you were right about it. IMO a skilled and geared player can make a good dk.

Thats kinda how I feel about paladins, my main is a paladin tank.

Hopefully in Cata they make them more distinct, and you can tell the good from bad.
