This is a M67 90mm recoiless rifle. The recoiless rifle has ammunition with a perforated case. If those holes are plugged up in any way the backblast mechanism won't work well or at all. It most likely messed up the weapon as well.
No the casing on the shell was probably pugged up. There's holes on the entirety of the casing on a recoiless rifle round. If those are plugged up all the recoil comes out of the muzzle. That's bad.

But Afghanistan is now and tomorrow and I know US military is technologically outpowering every single nation on earth at this moment, but US also has a lot of debts to China (largest military power on earth). Afghanistan is being rebuilt, but can the ANA protect it from outsiders? Some Afghanistan polices and soldiers turn to taleban side which means ISAF can't train them everything. Situation is better than in 2001 but can it stay away from corruption?

@SanSalvadotion Chine may have the largest military on the earth but they are 20 years behind the U.S. in technology and the U.S. is their main income provider. if they break the ties with us then they are screwed finacially especially since a lot of U.S. factories are being moved to India. Every country has corruption. its everywhere and cannot be fully abolished, but given the right training they should be able to atleast hold their own in protecting their country

When you invade a country and decide to leave when the war is still going on = retreat. What that means is that you lost the war. I don't know about vietnamese people being on your side. They may have been friendly during days but started hunting you when the night came. Same is in Afghanistan with insurgency.
I respect the veterans for being there even if it was for no good reason. It shows some serious balls to do something like that but US lost the vietnam war, like it or not.

And yeah they might've saved a couple of kids but thousands of other pro US supporters werent lucky enough to catch that last heli ride and were forced to literally jump in on rackety wood boats which many capsized trying to flee. Usa left becuase their own brutal tactics where turning the civilians (for whom they where fighting) against them. they entered to stop the spread of communism (which is a hugley misunderstood topic any way) and ended up turning many vietnamese into commys. Therre was an aggressive plan from conservatives to expand Americas power or influence in order to face the challenges of china russia and India in the coming era. Buildings are designed to resistructural failure from typical expected fire loads. They are not designed to withstand that kind of abuse.
