was that ran in Bridge Mono driving both cabs,or in parallel using each side of the amp? I figure the cabs are 4ohm, and you can t run both cabs at 4 ohm in bridge mono or you ll get 2 ohm.The manual says don t do it. If they re eack 4 ohm you would have to run in stereo etc.
@colbyAKAbobby for live monitoring(i really don't know if thats the way to say it in english ) . and there are just because i guess to show the entire rig ... to let byron tells us that he like's both cabs on the floor because bass is the bottom . xD
sounds like there's a TON of bass EQ'd into that amp. great sound though. wish i could afford a $600 4x10...not to mention my back having to handle it.
@StevewiththePbass i had that same concern before i bought mine, no need to worry, u will not regret it, and probobly the lightest bass amp ive had in my life
haha ur an idiot if u think marcus miller is bad he played with miles davis for years and did loads of session work and his feel is amazing!! @oRuTRa45
@SmithIRL No, fool! Not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning GOOD! Are you crazy? Both of them are stellar bass players. I've met Marcus in person and we rapped about his work.
the thing about it being for a beginner i wouldnt suggest buying something that big if your just starting out. you have no need for it. what if you dont like to play bass, which would be crazy if you didnt cuz its amazing, but you'd be out a good chunk of change
I did not think Byron was that great with George Duke in the 70s but I learned his line off That' What She Said' note for note! I would recommend any aspiring bass player to learn it as today I can embellish my own lines on it. He impressed me on that Wembley concert with Luther also. I guess he mainly slammed with thumb and forefinger and I was one of the first to play like Graham in my area. When I heard Stanley and Alphonso (fav) I wanted to play lead lines in my playing. Byron is TOUGH!Fc
I have a question for a smart bassist, WOuld an Ibanez Sr305 bass be good for slap ect? because I have one and I was looking into learning some good slap.
hey man, you would be the best person to answer that question. Play around with it, feel the different tones you get out of different slap approaches. Of course good slap is a whole art, but the mechanics of producing the slap sound are simple, so you will be able to tell pretty easily after some alone time with your bass if it's good or not. good luck.
I stop playing Ibanez because the strings were to close, not conducive to slapping. The music man stingray and the yamaha BBNE2, the Nathan East joint (both r my favorite) but check out Flea (RHCP) he came out with a line of basses that r moderatly priced and good for slappin, popping, and beginers. I want one myself I think they range about 300 dollars
@yhtomitalmighty ...True, I love the Fender Jazz, in fact my first bass was a replica of the Jazz. I think I fell into the other basses by accident. I love Flea, and Nathan East sound and my bass teacher lived and breathed the music man stingray, I just followed suit. But I ultimately will buy a Jazz. My all time must get is a Warwick. I played one the other day (vintage) it felt like I was playing a feather with amazing range.
@lookafterlove Can't go wrong with Fenders and Warwicks! My ultimate must get would be a Sadowsky Jazz!
I own a USA Fender Jazz bass and it's the most versatile bass ever IMO. I have never played a Stingray because I live in the PI and it's hard to find those here. German-made Warwicks too. I have owned a Yamaha ERB434 (I think that was it?) and a BB 1200 (I'm not sure) and I have played the Nathan East model and they just don't have that tone that I'm lookin' for.
@yhtomitalmighty No... I appreciate the feedback. That Sadowsky has a nice melodic sound to it, now I see what u r looking for as far as tone. Yeah still saving my bread for that Warwick but u aint never lied when u said the fender jazz was the most versatile bass. I will always have one as a staple. Oh yeah did I mention I am the biggest Jaco fan on the planet, I want to make a fender do that...
I meant This guy and Marcus have "very big similarities... Tone, Approach... Fenders lol. " - sorry about that... coincedentally ther was a story on Nathan East's brother and the photo of him he was playing a Fender... If My brother played bass and I was that rich and I had an endorsement through Yamaha, Id give him a few free ones...

Lows sound pretty muddy to me. Slap might be fine but for my 5 stringer I think I want more tone then that. Too much mid scooped for my liking.

The high end is great on this, but the low end seems so muffled. Anything behind the 5th or 4th fret is terrible. All those notes sound the same....
