  • There are no fans on the batteries. No liquid cooling either, like the Volt. Yes, of course, a LEAF makes wind and tire noise, as does every car. The electric drive motor makes a high pitched whine, but even that is difficult to hear. With the external noise maker turned off, driving around a parking lot, you can and do surprise people walking. It's that quiet.

  • Absolute rubbish! At 40mph and above in the real world, the Leaf is just as noisy as any other 'normal' (not customised) car.

Are you trying to say the Leaf has no wind or tyre noise?

  • @c53204 A gasoline car is a bit louder than 38 decibels too. They probably pulled random numbers out of the sky for this

  • @DVeck89 Take a look at YouTube video titled 'How Quiet is an Electric Car? (the Electric Car Noise debate)'

  • @DVeck89 Im pretty shure they are refering to the car idleing which in an electric car that would many absolutly no noise exept for maybe fans for the batteries

@c53204 by the way if you have ever acually stood next to a road u def can hear louder trucks and even cars the only car u might be refering to as "normal" that you couldnt hear might be the pethetic 61 horsepower smart cars or maybe a prius or civic or something. Idk about u but i would rather just have the electric car
