@IWantDaveKast For me it's because Halloween is a song with such strong, raw, pure emotion. I know people who have gone to around 15 shows and have still never seen Halloween. I was lucky enough to see it the first time I saw dave, even though I had been a fan for a long time, and I knew all of his music, live and studio, so I didn't lose my appreciation for it's rarity and emotion. It was at Bader Field this summer, the whole place went crazy after the Ants fake

@grgemclr1992 I have to agree. Its a dark song admittedly, but the energy that courses through the place when this song goes off is godly. They played it for the encore on the third night at the gorge recently. I had the pleasure of letting DMB pound my soul into nothing with the pure energy they summoned with this song. But you're right about the vocal strain. I remember back in 02 or 03 I had tix to see them in NYC and the show was canceled due to Dave losing his voice.

@doublebassheeltoe This is video from 2002. Leroi Moore was their Sax player at the time before he passed on. And no there is no sax in this song. And Boyd usually plays on this song but this song is so intense the violin is usually not needed or out of tune. He probably just sat this one out.

@RhodeBlok go with awesome ;) its a crazy song, but I think it's supposed to be artistically: the rough music and weird vocals mirror the anguish and darker meaning behind the lyrics, which I think are about the pain that a broken heart can cause and the mad side of not being loved back~overall its not pretty, but it's still a masterpiece because it honestly deals with the evilness of the subject matter ~ go DMB
