such a nice video, what a cute idea! I know how difficult eventing is and you look AWESOME this isnt the hunters or show ring ppl its a real sport and its tough its not about looking the prettiest just sitting on your horse and btw your position is perfect anyway.
i appreciate how difficult eventing is, and I agree, your horse has come a long way, but this commenter is an ignorant asshole. hunter/jumper is equally difficult. one of the reasons this rider was successful was that she DID have good position and equitation, which is a fundemental aspect of riding. It's not just "sitting pretty", it's a lot of hard work, like eventing! try it sometime, rather than making rude comments about other disciplines.
I love seeing this, it helps me alot with my horse now. Since i literally just moved to an eventing stable last night and im doing a working student program. It gives me hope that my horse can too change for the better. :]
hey, wow- that's a big difference indeed. Congratulations. One tiny thing though- you shouldn't turn your toes out so much, but you're defenately a great rider. Don't you ever worry about the jumps? they're so heavy, if your horse didn't make the jump it would have great concequences.
The whole entire part of eventing is the thrill of those consequences. And that's why it takes so long to become successful, because it takes alot of skill to know how to jump safely and correctly, and not to forget how brave you have to be. To be an eventer you really have to love what you do and have a passion for it.
Yeah, I can understand the thrill of it. But I really don't see how anyone could put their horse, their buddy, in such danger. Because, let's be fair, it's ALOT more dangerous than jumping regular jumps...
u did a fantasic job with ur horse! n in a year thats not bad going shows dedication! n 2 the person below most of those pick look like they were taken either during training or in shows! ijm sure she relaxes alot with her horse as well n has sum fun but when training n showing you have to be serious!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, I agree with you made a big difference, your horse is looking more relaxed working and jumping better, my only obsevation is for you, you must look happier on your horse, you are too serious.
Please read again my comment, "my only obsevation, you must look happier on your horse, you are too serious." concentration is not a sad face enjoy this sport SMILE!!
Wow that is amazing-and all over the course of one year too! You must be very proud of yourself and your gorgeous horse. I only hope my horse and I can be like y'all some day :D
It's great to see how you two have progressed together. I hope for such luck with my horse in the future. We've come far, but you guys have done far more. Congratulations and I wish you further luck. :D
Its great seeing the progress in the horse as well as in the rider. Though to me what i find even better is seeing the progress in their connection their bond their relationship it just doesnt happen in a second and even if it takes a while year isnt that whats most important in the end. Wonderfull to see the change keep at it the only way is up from here on end by the way even the beginning pictures you two already lookted awsome together.
ur ankles are reeli over developed but dont worry cos m9 are like tht aswell and anyway the more u hav them downn the better chance u hav to stay on x:D x
thats amazing, it just shows what hard work can do! I have a similar story, i rescued my pony, he was a harness driver and i decided to break him in. He was badly mistreated and headshy, also underweight. We owned him for around a yr & he had a life threatening illness but he overcame it. & a yr later i broke him in. We do really well in SHP classes ans he jumps at around 3ft6!! i wouldnt change 4 the world either!! && i think your position is VERY good. How big is ice? xx
aww thats great!!! I was very happy with ow much promise he would show me every day, my goal for the end of this year is to be competing prelim and 2nd level...so we'll se how it goes!!!
he is 16.2 =D...my move up from my 13.2 prelim haflinger pony lol
if you got on Ice you wouldn't be able to do so much as to trt him...is is everything BUT an easy ride...look at any of the jumping pix at the end ther is no problem with my position at all! I don't see you posting any videos of yourself riding....
Great Stuff Megan!! Tom and I are very proud of you.... you have accomplished so much in such a short period of time. Funny in life how that works out that the thing we think we don't want works out to be the best for us!! I am glad you love your horse so much! (maybe you help me train me stubborn chihuahua puppy)
Wow, that shows such great improvement! I very much enjoyed watching this!
BTW: your position is fine. I like that backseat position for xc. I'm assuming that flyxchange is making reference to your backseat position over fences.
OMG we would be bff haha eventing AND Boys Like Girls!? How do I not know you already?!? Haha

I LOVE this video! You guys are so great together.
And i'm currently going through the same thing you and ice went through with my horse. :]
Weird question though, what brand is that black saddle pad with the piping. I love it. I think the black against a gray horse looks great!

she is fine with her heels, she can ride any way she wants and any way she is comfortable with, and your not an instructor so u shouldn't be talking.
