Since the tracer has no drop, it's actually a great way to take out Recons on large maps. You can aim it straight at them, take cover, and loop an RPG around it. It's REALLY nice when they group, or get in towers. So for those of us using the engineer, your best long range weapon is a tracer.

A fun tactic I sometimes use:

pick any sniper rifle with the 12x scope and the laser dart, search for a wookie camping somewhere on the other end of the map, aim directly on his face with the sniper and switch to the laser dart (dart guns don't have bullet drop) Fire!

He'll be like WTF and can't see shit because of the red light in his face. You can immediately switch to sniper and finish him off if you want or let a team member lock on with a rocket :)

Actually it does lock on from any distance but the thing that it hits is what you have to hold the aiming reticle over so since its a person its mad small which means the reticle has to be mad precise from that distance for 5 seconds or so then its fully locked on. It just seem really easy with choppers, tanks and such because they are such huge targets.
