  • Hoe is het verbruik?

  • bmw power, bro!

  • Gazo duok

  • That's how bimmer makes a boring trip from a laundry fun ;) Ultimate driving machine)

  • nice bmw sound )

  • Which camera are you using for this? And where can you buy the mount?

  • Faster moron faster

  • Cool car!!

Anyone knows why did they put a V8 in the 540i and 530i, but a 6L in the M5 and 535i??

  • More cylinders = smoother engine.

The 530i and 540i are more luxury orientated vehicles whereas the 535i is more sports orientated, goes without saying for the M5. Although from my own experience an M5 engine can often be smoother than one of a 540/530.

  • Thanks, now I get it =) Both 6L and V8 are great, anyway.

  • I personally prefer the straight sixes. They're bulletproof my dads had many that have hit 200k miles. The V8's aren't as strong especially the early Nikasil ones

  • I love V8´s in general, but the famous 6L of BMW is superb.

What about the E39 M5´s V8? Isn´t that good? I´m in love with this car, and I´m getting one soon =)

  • The S62 does use the same V8 as the e34 540i but only as a base, it's has the later alusil linings that don't corrode and it's generally better as it is M Tuned

  • Yes, the ///M means quality, and better performance and this engine is incredible.

Is there any problem with this engine block?

I mean, you say they aren´t as bulletproof as 6L, what common problems they have then?

  • On the earlier engine the cylinders were lined with Nikasil and these reacted with high Sulphur content in cheap fuels and thus corroded meaning the engines would run badly then eventually stop completely

  • So is about the material... Everything should be good if you use a good 98RON fuel?

I´ve seen that both M60 V8 and M52 L6 were made with this material.

  • Nikasil was used on the linings of the cylinders, I don't think it was used on the 6 Cylinders and supposedly it was only on cheap fuel but BMW covered all owners under warranty and most are now on Alusil lined Cylinders

  • So that´s a FAIL by BMW for using this material.

As I´ve read it caused corrosion problems so they decided to move to Alusil.

This is very interesting, I didn´t know it, so thanks for sharing =)

  • No problem, the more people know about these wonderful machines the better

  • That´s it. Cheers!

  • wat? i thought it was just motorsport

  • What do you mean?

  • i thought //M meant motorsport stood for the Motorsport Division of BMW

  • Oh, of course you are right!!

I just say that an ///M car has very good quality and sport performance.

  • @WHITEVOLK8814 ///M stands for Motorsport lol -.-

  • @trytthisnow I know, I own an ///M car. =)

  • Bmw power ;)

  • I used to drive the A2 daily when I lived in Nieuwegein and worked in IJmuiden!

    Has it gone???!

  • @EonPeon

Just this piece of road since they're reconstructing the entire A2 between Amsterdam and Utrecht

  • we hadded thy, ain'ts thy

  • the radioooooooooooooooooooooooooo :P

  • v8 sound is the greatest sound ever :P

  • That looks a bit like the road from the Hoek van Holland to Rotterdam...

And get a new radio! At least get a black one that blends in!

  • @EonPeon

Its the A2 from Amsterdam to Utrecht. This piece of road doesnt exist anymore though.

  • What is wrong with this picture? The retarded aftermarket radio; it looks like ass. Have some respect for your car man. Get an oem radio. Good god that looks nasty.

  • I know it looks nasty, but at the time I couldnt find any proper looking radio that could play mp3 cds with aux... I hate it myself too.

  • @nlSpiller you might be able to take part of the cover off and paint it?

  • @warlockbass

Well, i agree it is one of the ugliest radios ever but it worked great. I sold the car this week, including the radio ;)

  • I have e34 525i manual it's great car

  • M60b40 great motor! great sound!

  • You should try mounting the camera on tripod and placing it on the backseats. Then, lay the front passenger seat as low as you can, gives a nice touch with a side window, better feel on the movement.

  • Good idea, but im not sure how to mount the camera on the backseats.

  • I managed to get it in place with tripod and safety belt, it actually sits quite well. :)

  • haha bastard moved for ya. GO E34

  • real bmw driving-style ;)

  • bmw is the best!!!

  • M60B40 :)

  • wat zie je er toch weer lekker uit!
