Great video! I'm interested in what you think of the coils. I'd like to do some gold prospecting, but also relic, coin and beach hunting. The guy at the local shop things the 705 gold pack and a 6inc DD HD would be great for me. Do you think that would suffice for pretty much all general metal detecting? Or should I get the standard 705 for it's coil (instead of the elliptical?) and also the 6inch dd hd for any gold detecting I may want to do? I would greatly appreciate any help! Thanks!
Since your doing the test with objects on top of the sand, how do you know that there wasn't anything beneath those locations? What do the numbers tell you? For instance, 30 for the gold and 40 for the second obj. Does 30 mean gold all the time or does it mean something else?
Pretty neat. When I lived by the beach I would see guys out there every single night. If they werent finding anything, they wouldnt be there. But I guess if they find 1 ring per month its still fun, even just for the sport. I always wondered if they had underwater ones, and you said they have underwater coils. The beach has been picked over, but in the water where people swim?? Maybe there is a gold mine out there!!
Nice Video , the HF coil is for Gold but works on other items . And you can notch out items with this detector . I like mine and was surprised at how well it worked. We need more up on the X-terra 705 as it is still new .
I'm thinking about getting one of those, and it would be fantastic if you can upload a video showing how the depth arrows are working out on buried objects(as you said in the end of the video).
My first guess would be, in the desert outside Tuscon?
Did I hear that right? Did you say that you would need to READ THE OWNERS MANUAL? I think that's a first!
The Significant Smother's parents have a detector that was something like $1k 15 years ago. But it just sits in it's fancy arsed case in the closet. I think they've used it 3 times since the purchase. If you spend the money on a good one you've got to use the darned thing for more than a dust collector. (They won't loan it to me, LOL.)
I have a White's metal detector out in my garage. While not as fancy as this Minelab, I've found a few coins with it..
A friend of mine found a gold coin with his years ago. It was buried inside a small metal can near the base of a tree. He stumbled upon the remains of an old homestead while out driving up some overgrown log road near here. I guess he found it just as he was about to give up and head back home.
After he sold the coin, he went and bought a new metal detector with the money.
I have been watching vids on cool stuff other people have found I like how they can tell you what metal is there.. now I need to decide where to go test it further
@GearBuyersGuide That's just the thing. Even his metal detector showed that it was scrap metal on the little display. But since he was near a homestead, and not wanting to miss anything, he decided to dig it up anyways. If he hadn't, he would have missed out on a nice pay day..
.
Being in Arizona, there should be plenty of 'Old West' type places to check out..
I recently bought a bounty hunter metal detector (around 100$) and so far I had great fun with it. I found a few bucks in change and many other interesting objects.
I hope to see more videos about your new metal detector.

Good question, could things be pulled into the water from waves or the tide? (live in a desert, just guessing)

Dude, the arrows are the hit.
3 arrows as depth indication, but the the object is on the surface.
laugh...
All I can say, you invested 700 back very good.

Thats an old Titan II missle complex near the Santa Rita mountains. You can see the old access shaft (cement block) and command complex (metal dome).
