  • in Mèxico is common this fruit in the markets , it taste delicious

  • there is no GOD...no wait...I am your GOD

  • lmaooooo shut up dont tell people what to say or do

  • ignorant...

  • who me?

  • Eat the God-Damn fruit already! The first time humans seen an apple, orange, banana, pineapple, cherries, strawberries, grapes, peaches, or coconut probably thought to him or herself: "What the hell is that!"

  • The night-blooming cereus flowers have been famous in Hawaii for 100 years or so, but it wasn't until the 21st century that the fruit that comes from them has been known at all. It has, however, been available in Central America (where these plants come from).

I wonder who came up with the name "dragonfruit" to promote these? It's very similar to "kiwi fruit", which were originally called "hairy gooseberries" - obviously not a name which would attract shoppers.

  • The most common night-blooming cereus (Hylocereus undatus) has been in Hawaii since 1830, and even though it's a common plant, the fruits were extremely rare. That's because the plants were all just cuttings from the same original one, and therefore the flowers would not pollinate successfully.

Dragonfruit have only been sold commercially in Hawaii for a few years now, and obviously someone had to bring in cuttings from elsewhere to be able to produce fruit successfully.

  • OMG! PINK FRUIT!!! *want* :D

  • i bought one of these in a grocey store when i was in the philipppines..cost me almost $5.00USD i didn't have a clue what it was other than some sort of fruit. i figured i would just cut the sucker open and find out what's inside. it has the texture of a kiwi without the white sweet center, and it was mildly sweet. i don't know if mine was completely ripe yet but it was good.

  • of***

  • i tryed 1 pf these n they are tasteless

  • With dragon fruits, they darker they are, the more flavor they have. The white ones tend to be rather bland, but the pink and red varieties actually taste like something.

  • Awesome! I want a red or pink one. I'll try and find a round one. :D
