The Marshals there look anything BUT "adrenalin pumped cops." In fact, they are quite calm, are restraining the troubled passenger appropriately, and continuously reassuring the passenger that he will not be harmed.

THE PLANE IS PRESSURIZED - meaning MUCH higher pressure INSIDE than out!

Release the latch and the door would BLOW open like a bomb,and most people inside would be instantly unconscious due to explosive decompression.

There *MAY* be electronic interlock to stop prevent opening the door, but even that has an override.
