  • Operation Dragonfire was actually pretty good. Nice bridging of the gap between classic series and the ongoing DIC series.

  • hey guys the snuck in somee American flags :)

  • g.i. joe is a american special task force. they don't work for the u.n. they work for the pentagon.

  • international heroes what the fuck is that bull shit

  • 4 people work for cobra!

  • So funny! Its says in the song " International Hero", but under the GIJOE logo it says " A real AMERICAN hero" Lol! I love GIJOE.

  • I can try to over look and understand why they changed in to international heroes ''so it could be marketable in other countries'', but why change COBRA to Terrorist oranization?

  • @dcFanatic99 I think they were originally going to use this for the third season that never made it. Instead of fighting Cobra, the Joes would be fighting the Coil instead who probably were going to be more of a global threat than Cobra. However, since the Coil did not appear, unless you count the Cobra members who rebelled against Serpentor, they should have used the original or movie theme instead.

  • international wtf!!! grrrr!!!

  • and stormshadow is not a cobra anymore..

  • this series passes after the movie i guess.. at intro it always shows sergeant slaughter :P why no duke or falcon? i remember that they were transforming cobra commander s snake form into his old form again..

  • No where near has good has the the version it replaced this version was pathetic.

  • I'll agree on the most part, but the mini-series DiC did kind of feel it could have worked as a Sunbow story.

  • this is the 5th gi joe movie. it comes right after gi joe the movie or 4th movie.

  • dragon fire...wtf??? what gijoe is this......international hero?? its american hero!!!! get it straight.....just like it is now... the live action movie will be same BS.....screw the United Nations GI JOE....bring back the American Hero GI JOE ..... and yes COBRA are terrorists not miss understood rebels like they would be considered now.lol

  • What's your problem? What do you have against the UN? Are you some sort of US-centric bigot? And what makes you think anyone would consider Cobra "misunderstood rebels"? And what makes you think there's going to be any live action movie, and even if there is, how do you what it will be like? Are you psychic? You obviously don't know what you're talking about, so stop bothering other people.

  • ur obviously a douchbag coz there is a movie coming out and gi joe are real american heros not international heros... so u got no idea miss no it all

  • Uh, from your message, I assume you were replying to MRPROH's comment and not mine, but it showed up in my e-mails. You must have clicked "reply" on the wrong message.

  • Hate to say it, but they were indeed "International Heroes! G.I. Joe was theeere!"

  • That was made for the international release of the show for overseas...or Canada i think.

Hearing that song politically mutilated like that is absolutely mortifying!

  • @olternaut yeah they changed it eventually so they could market it in canada there was a dog sled team that was brave enough to transport it into canada. we got it the same time the u.s did moron. it was definetly changed during some overseas conflict to reduce drop in viewership.

  • @carkastoken

Yep, GI Joe is in Afganastan, and Iraq, and about every other country. Indeed they are "international heroes"

  • Amen brother! Where in the hell was Guantanamo Bay when we really need it!

    LOL!

  • This is teh gay! Animation was crappy compared to the Movie intro. A ruthless terrorist organization? CALL THEM COBRA!!! WTH

    lame

  • the british saw it as internation hero, but the rest of the world saw it as a real american hero, even australians.

  • I have the original airing of Operation Dragonfire on video and this must be an international version as my version has the REAL theme.

  • International? WTF? Glad I've blocked that one from my memory. DIC screwed the Joes over big time.

    G.I. JOE=Real AMERICAN heroes. Period.

  • International heroes? How did I miss that crap...They were recruited from the ranks of American special forces, and though they were all from diverse backgrounds they were all Americans! I guess this is where they got the idea for the new movie. The comic book was much better and though I don't mind when they update the story, but this international peace keeping force isn't what the series was all about.

I'm an American and I'm proud of our armed forces. Don't mess with our fiction.

  • I hear you, pal. While they DID bring in specialists from other countries like Big Ben, Backstop or Red Star, the team was overwhelmingly American in origin.

The idea for the movie is simply run of the mill Entertainment industry leftism. That's really nothing new.

  • Who was that Chinese looking dude next to Sargent Slaughter?

  • He's the lead monk in the monestay that holds the Dragonfire.

  • it G.I.JOE A real American Hero, not an Internation Hero, plus the terroist is Cobra.

  • Yeah, but it was around that time that they came out with some action figures who were called the "headhunters" I believe that were some sort of international drug cartel. Seriously. Can you imagine? Cripes.

  • "The ruthless enemy"!?

  • He sang "...GIJoe against the ruthless enemy..." keeps changing everytime.

  • acutally this is the uk version i remember it. that and it still said real american hero on the opening.

  • True that the 'international heroes' part was used in the UK, but acording to the video discriptive, this opening was for the first 5 part mini-series developed by DiC, despite the fact that this song was used for the Sunbow/Marvel version of the show.

  • And I belive the title was changed to "Action Force" in the UK, with "Yo Joe" being replaced with "Full Force"

  • That is correct! In fact any mention of G.I. Joe was dubbed over as 'ction Force' by dub actors who mostily sounded nothing like their American vocal counterparts. They often dubbed over bad language as well.

  • What's really, really funny is that at the end of the movie it still says "A Real American Hero".

Not to mention the original G.I. Joe was an American in Vietnam according to the comic book.

Sure, they got people from other countries to join the team, but it was still started and mostly consisted of Americans.

Next thing you know, they'll embarrass it even more and start calling them the United Nations heroes.

  • "International Heroes"?

Screw you mother trucking cosmo bastards.

  • RUINED

  • Oh and to all of the America haters out there: Get of this country you bunch of ungrateful little bastards! Your shitty attitudes are definitely not welcomed here.

  • How in the fucking hell did I imply that the only people who watch Youtube are americans? If you paid attention to what I said the first damn time, people, American or foreign, who visit this site and post mean and fucked-up lies about my country, especially the ones that live in the U.S. should pack up and leave. SIMPLE AS THAT! Oh and "Death to America"!? Get real!! This country will be here lonnggggg after your pathetic life have been gone.

  • So the intro can't say Real American Heroes and Cobra the enemy!? What the motherfucking hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I for one am tired of all this bullshit censoring by the fucking televison networks!!! Who the hell are we trying to appease here!? Sissy liberal democrats? The Mothers of America? This country has become so damn uptight nothing is sacred anymore!!!!!! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK

  • What's wrong with saying Cobra the Enemy

  • "International Hero"...wtf??? Since when is it a bad thing to be american?!? Did G.I. Joe even tackle anything in other countries?

  • So....We outsourced GI Joe as well? I wonder if there's anything that's just American anymore...

  • ...Well, some poeple have already noticed what's going on with GI Joe on this video.

Anyone sick of GI Joe being passed off as an "International hero" might want to check out Glenn Beck for more information.

  • So politically correct, eh? Bah! Pussies!

  • wish I knew who got the idea to make Cobra Commander to look like that(0:17) and bash is head in. I love how they say "International hero", but the title card says other wise. Maybe they didn't we'd notice?

  • You kidding? Battle Armour Cobra Commander is a fairly well liked design, considering that they revisited it for the 25th Anniversary line. Some of the other Cobra Commander figures from the 'A Real American Hero' line were awful, like the Star Brigade one.

  • Personaly, I always thought the blue hood suited him best. I think that as leader, Cobra Commander shouldn't be in the battles, just planning them.

  • I don't know where this came from, but I taped the very first airings of Operation: Dragonfire and they have the original theme and "Cobra The Enemy" intact over this video.

  • YAY!

  • They added Russians with the Joes, and now both Cobra and the Joes had this Drug Cartel for an enemy...

  • I remember those episodes! They coincided with Gorbachev and the Fall of the Soviet Union.

  • ya I noticed that too. They're international lol - and Cobra are now 'the enemy' lol

  • GI JOE; INTERNATIONAL HEROES! This was after the fall of Berlin Wall and the Panama incident I believe. Around 1989-90 or so.

  • Does anyone know WHY GI Joe was created? I'm talking about the 12" action figures sold in the late '70's/early '80's.

  • It was a male counterpart to Barbie dolls. Dolls were for girls, so Joe coined the term "Action Figure".

  • While it may be true that my GI Joe Action Figure violated many Barbies while Ken was at work, that was not the purpose of their creation. Here's a hint: Think of John Q. Public's general feeling toward the military in the 1960's and 70's with Viet Nam at its worst. Anyone else care to guess?

  • That's when Joe started pulling away from military and towards civilian expeditions like the Adventure team, actually. The Vietnam war led to Joe being demilitarized as the popularity of war toys waned.

  • It lacks the zing of the first opening *and the novilty of Destro being tossed by the other joes* but i've seen worse.

  • To all the Sigma Six haters: Be HAPPY. You could've been watching this atrocity instead!!

  • Dude Sigma Six is crap. This was a lot better than Sigma Six. But the best was THe Sunbow Cartoons of the 80's.

  • In technicality the Sigma 6 is at least better than the farce known as G.I. Joe Extreme.

  • lol. your telling me. Gijoe Extreme was the worst of all of the cartoons. Sigma Six is way better than that shit.

  • I like it! I don't see recoil in there! all I see are scoop, low light, footloose, barbecue, spirit and sgt. slaughter

  • loved this opening mostly because I got to finally see new toys in animation form
