arnold had a good physique, but honestly I think the judges swayed his way because of all the hype that surrounded him. I believe honestly sergio oliva had a better physique, and deserved much more credit and wins than he achieved, even some I believe he should have won over arnold. Seriously just look at old comp photos of him and then look at arnold, you may ask yourself the same thing.
The NABBA title in those days actually meant something. Don't know if this was taken at the NABBA Amateur Mr. Universe but it sure appears to be. Arnold won the Pro NABBA title in 1968 and then lost to Zane a week later in the IFBB Mr. Universe in Miami. In 1969 Arnold was ripped off by losing to Oliva in that years Mr. Olympia. Arnold made short work of the cuban in 1970 by beating Oliva twice in 2 weeks in different federations. Arnold and Scott were the two greatest of all time.
im sorry but ur wrong, mr.universe was the amatuer show back then, win it and u go pro, then the next year u do mr.olympia, obviously he wasnt mr.olympia material at 20, mr.universe is like the USAs now a days....
This guy won his first olympia title at 20 in '67.
If I am wrong and if you are saying that I am, you are calling his self written book Encyclopedia of a Bodybuilder that he wrote incorrect. That is just where I got the fact along with his BB titles.

In Mr. Universe (1966) Chet Yorton beated Arnold. And this was the first time he ever defeated. But this was just because he knew nothing about posing. He was young and inexperienced. If he had knew the tricks of how to pose properly, he would have won that title, too. ;)
I have collected a few photos from that particular competition. Chet Yorton won due to more mature legs and better chest and he had a complete development unlike Arnold. but you have to take into consideration the age difference Chet Yorton was 25+ yo. Arnold was only 19 and despite not having trained for too many years still had a larger body structure than Chet Yorton. It's true regarding his posing routine. Must have looked quite simple and not at all refined/fluent as in say "Pumping Iron".
i think it was in london the 67 universe

No, he won his first Mr. Universe title in 1967 at 20 years old.
In 1966 he won:
Best Built Man of Europe
Mr. Europe
international Powerlifting Championship.
The title you are refering to is probably one of those three in 1966.
