Not necessarily. Nationalism arised in Germany as a result of the Versailles-treaty. It was incredibly unfair towards Germany, enhanching people's wish for a strong Germany. People wanted someone who could rebell against the winners of WW1, not be their puppet. Therefore, they elected Hitler, who first of all was brilliant speaker, and also appealed enourmosly to the workingclass by making new jobs in the war industry and railroad companies. Most people here would probably woted for him.

Its logical, cos there was no historical German nation, but tens of different german countries. They have a need of some glue...

And what do you mean by "no historic germany"? Are you thinking that the german people didn't have any sense of belonging because of the many separate areas Germany was finally, if I may, founded by.

First of all, my country of origin does not matter because i am not a nationalist and my thoughts are not constrained by nationalist ideals. Second, speaking about my education without knowing me and addressing me insulting words tells allot about your education. Third, what I meant to stress in my comment was not the cause of the rise of extremist nationalism in Germany but the fact that extremist nationalism is a harmful element in a culture, as proven by the consequences of this war.

But you right, it's good and refreshing to see these men tell their stories and not just the normal frustrating assumption that all Germans were NSDP members wanting to just kill everything.
