The Galaxy Class Enterprise-D was Dorky. It's Saucer was way too Big. it's Engine Hull was Too Small and Short. It's Warp Engines were too Short and Low. It was Lop Sided and Unimposing. If it gets Remastered. It needs a Major Overhaul. It needs to have most of the Windows removed too. How can it Fight in a Battle when most of it's Surface is Covered in Windows like a Cruise Ship ? The NX-01 got Shortchanged. It should have had Deflector Shields. Big Mistake. A Starship has to Have Shields..

My favorite Starfleet ships are: Soverign class (not only photon but quantum torepedoes, thats badass), Ambassador class, Constitution class, Excelsior class, Nebula class, Miranda class, Defiant class (only federation ship with a cloak, hell ya), Intrepid class ( upgraded borg shields, yes please) , Galaxy class (saucer section seperation with 2nd battle bridge is awseome). I hate the NX class. A grappling hook line, I`d rather have a tractor beam anyday. Plus no holodecks...are you kidding me

This is just the ships that were the focus of the various TV shows. What about the Miranda class? That's pretty popular. You also miss the Sovereign class from the later movies. There's also the Akira, Ambassador, Centaur, Constellation, Danube (runnabout), Nebula, Nova, Oberth, Olympic, Shelley, Saber, Soyuz and Yeager just to name a few of the more popular ones.

it's not just the E missing. The Ambassador Class Enterprise C is left out, and there's a lot of Excelsior mixed with the Enterprise B which is a Excelsior refit (added some substance around engineering, probably to fit Shatners changing shape )

It has always annoyed me that the very old Excelsior class is so common in Picard's time (the design is over 80 years old by then), yet the much newer & more modern Ambassador class is conspicuous in its absence.

Besides, the Excelsior just doesn't have the grace of other Starfleet vessels. Looks like a Lego toy.

I'll cop abuse for this too.. I don't really like the look of the Galaxy class either. Looks like a squished slug.

Actually the Mark I Excelsior class ships make up the bulk of the Federation fleet.

They were used is vast numbers during the dominion war and you can expect them to stay in service for quite some time. Personaly I find the Excelsior to have much more grace than the bulky Ambassador, Galaxy and Nebula classes : )

Best bet getting an Ambassador, is looking for a mesh site where some fans have made some...thats about it. I think the only, or one of the only instances where it's shown on TV is in TNG: "Yesturday's Enterprise".
