I think this verisons annie was better. Her singing was better and her acting was. But the 1982's dancing was great. But Alicia did better capturing the innceonce of annie a little bit better than the 82 annie. Yet, alicia did bring out the good ol' tough annie too. But I think the 99' annie's singing was PITCH perfect. I thought it was amazing. Honestly i never thought alieen's singing was made for annie. But Aileen is an AMAZING dancer and actress.This was just my opinion :P

This version is better for a child audience I think and the older version is better for adults to enjoy. I find the dancing a lot better in the 1982 version though

This remake is a joke compared to the 1982 version. They tried to be PC by adding a black and asian girl as ophans. I'm suprised that they did not add a boy ophan as well to be really PC

As for the '99 vs '82 version arguement, They both have their charms. I think that in 1999, Disney was trying to go back to the original broadway version (Taking out the new songs like Dumb Dog, Let's Go To The Movies, and We Got Annie), and at the same time trying to lighten the tone for younger audiences. Also, remember: It's Disney. What can you do?

Both of the movies were great but in my opinion 1999 was better in singing but 1982 had better acting, but Alicia Morton is my favorite, not saying that Aileen Quinn is bad but I like Alicia Morton better.

Ya Tim Curry was a lot more evil, but this one is creepier. Tim Curry was in a lot of ways scarier, though, because you expect this guy to try to kill her or something, but with Tim Curry he seems like there could be a chance of innocence. Until of course he DOES chase her up the bridge.
