  • It looks like a set piece from the 1960s Batman. The music sounds like generic action music from a bad Michael Bay movie.

  • I don't think the series can go on too much longer if the doctor keeps regenerating. Soon we'll have a teenager slouching at the controlls of the Tardis, then a baby.

    (lol that would be funny.

    COMPANION: "It's a Dalek!!"

    DOCTOR: "Goo goo!")

  • @Mark1Manual

Well, that's at the back of everyone's mind, isn't it? But, on a more serious note, that's what The Doctor does, his physical age changes. Bear in mind that Smith and Davison are the only two REALLY young Doctors. Tennant was about the right age, young, but old enough to look like he is serious. Smith and Davison' s Doctors are very young, but they can still pull it off. It's about finsind the right actor - although, over 25 at least, I'd say...

  • I much prefer this Tardis to Tennant's which was quite spare, and didn't seem to extend beyond the circular control room.

  • how is it a ripoff of the 2005 one? Tennant's Tardis was a basic circular chamber, with a ledge that apparently did nothing, and other then that not much else. This Tardis has stairs leading off into various directions, something the old one didn't do, and just, at least from appearance, looks crazily larger then Tennants one. :/

  • I hope the whole River song thing isn't hinting they're killing the doctor off for the finale ALREADY. Dx I hope he stays on as long as tennant, if not longer.

  • Looks practically the same to me XD

  • dear fans tell you a little leak that next sat river song is back

  • the Doctor changes the control room from time to time. just as tom baker did with the secondary control room... and if remember correctly, he had lots of rooms, a pool, and he said you would need a guided tour to see all of it and it would take years to see it all...or was that peter davidson..well..anyway..thats what the Doctor said.

  • @rasaldo You see a lot of the TARDIS in "Castrovalva" which is nice, and you also see a lot in "The Invasion of Time", but they didn't have sets for all the rooms in TIoT, so they just used corridors from a warehouse without any roundels etc. which, I'm sorry to say looked TERRIBLE. Hopefully now we will see more of the inside, as The Moff. has stated that he always wanted to see more of the inside as a boy :)

  • Dude, it's not like a mansion, it's like a total one hundred starships in one. And a mansion.

  • Ahh, you'rve redecorated. Don't like it.

Second Doctor in FIVE DOCTORS and THREE DOCTORS and me, now

  • I wish they could show us more because on saterday night Jonathan ross there was an interview with Mat smith who is the new docter and there was a new sonic scrrewdriver and he said there were roomes in the tardis.Like a mansion!

  • it's going to be a hell of a ride for Matt Smith and Steven Moffat, they'll do brilliantly though,

I'm going to miss David Tennant, but I can't wait to see what this new season brings, i don't however like the fact that they're naming it series one, it should just be a continuation, season 5, it feels like theyr're trying to replace the brilliance that was executed in the past 5 years with Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant.

  • OK: MORE NEWS!

A description of the interior have been given to a newspaper (don't remember which), but, it seems safe to believe as it was not The Sun...

It will be on multiple levels, which great glass floors, 3 times as big as the RTD console, with copper decorations on the wall. There will be old car seats positioned around the console, which will resemble a cross between the Tennant and McGann consoles, with old keyboards and junk, with a scanner screen on extendible tendrils.. Sounds..OK

  • maybe the new roundels are speakers of some sort.

  • I like the idea that the interior of the TARDIS can be changed from time to time. Just like rearranging the furniture or a new coat of paint in your home.

If you had been traveling/living in the same vehicle for as long as the Doctor has, you'd want the option to change your environment from time to time too.

  • It still looks like a bleeding poofs palace, bring back Tom Bakers hard firm wooden TARDIS!

  • What would Doctor 5 say? "He's gone and changed the desktop theme again! Is that rhododendron?"

  • LOL. Good one ;)

  • But the old Tardis console fits perfectly as a background for my phone. All the icons even go around it. D:

  • i liked 9-10s tardis because im an american and it will always come down to one thing for american scifi fans: star wars vs. star trek.

and i was a star wars fan haha, the millenium falcon falling apart, grimy, wires poking out all over, vs. the shiny high tech perfect looking enterprise

i liked 9-10s tardis for the same reason, it was a realistic futuristic look (paradox i know!)

i also hope to see more rooms though!

  • a friend of mine coined the phrase "futuristic rustic" i think this fits. personally i really like the new look. cant wait to see the whole thing!

  • i mean 9-10th doctors tardis cuz it was really good

  • it looks nothing like the 2005 tardis scheme this interior is completly diffrent it looks stunnigly high tech way better than previous seasons. i just hope they show more of the tardises various rooms it has thousands.

  • Not anymore

  • dont say that, its absolutely beautifull, but then again everyone has their own tastes. i personaly really didnt like the coral look of the 2005-2009 tardis interior but, i see most people did but, to each their own.

  • Actually I was replying to doctorw2, who said the Tardis has thousands of rooms. I really like the new look, it reminds me of the McGann Tardis :D

  • well actually the orginal producers of the series said it has thousands of rooms since the tardis interior is actualy a dimension of time and space. this interior is nothing like mcganns tardis.

  • Yeah, i know, but I immediatly thought about 'Castrovalva', when the Doctor jettisons most of the Tardis. And I think it's just the staircase that makes me think about the MacGann version.

  • that was only one room which was jettisoned and it can be easily replaced. the tardis rooms are dimensions which can be remolded.

  • actually i think YorickMesch is right it was about 25% of the tardis I think that was jettisoned in "Castrovalva" but the Zero room was the only one relevant to the story so thats the only one mentioned as being jettisoned (he mentions how much to jettison when they are preparing to do so)

  • it dosent matter what is jettisoned from the tardis the rooms are dimensions which can be replaced.

  • I don't see why everyone hates the coral. But, then I suppose that it may have been an adjustement for fans of the Classic series, which is fair enough. Personally the coral console, or, "The Treehouse" as one of my friends once put it, is my favourite :)

  • well speaking for myself only i didnt like the coral scheme it reminded me too much of the inside of an aquarium.

  • i prefer old tardis

  • The actual 'old' TARDIS - which the old man built in his backyard - or the TARDIS they used from 2005 onward?

The 'old' TARDIS had wires poking out all over the place, and giant ancient 'chips' that were 3 feet wide everywhere...

Then it was white, with a sort of circular pattern carved into the walls...

Then it became sort of pastel...

Then it looked like the interior of a church...

Then it became the one that David Frelling Tennant had...

So which one is the old one you speak of?

  • Oh, and I guess I forgot to say, I think this one will be fine...

It just follows suit from the rest, so there's no major drama I can see with it.

  • Have you noticed this Tardis is bigger? I thought this was supposed to be about the inside. :p

  • its beautifull

  • @hellpod123 The masters figured out lots of ways around that limit so could the doctor

  • Comment removed

  • bit to red I

  • i like change, also i think james bond is a timelord, he keeps regenerating

  • lol i like that and batman

  • James Bond keeps changing because it is nothing more than a codename...

  • ???

  • 8D although i'm not liking the red color scheme =/ but oh well i'm sure i'll get used to like i've gotten used to the 11th doctor ^^

  • I think this is just a bad picture, the other pics that I've saw have the orangy brown colour scheme like the present one.

  • yea probably although we'll never truly know for sure 'till spring will we?

  • Um, that is an orangy brown colour scheme...

  • yeah, you see am i the only one who thinks it looks exactly the same ?

  • yes :)

  • If you look at the official clip preview for 2010, you will see the interior and it looks nothing like this.

  • Where as in the perview we see something that COULD be a TARDIS, it could also be 1000 other things. personally, sieng as this WAS seen INSIDE the Police Box, my money is definately riding on this as the TARDIS. 1 thing, the thing in the trailer does look like the same stlye as this, I thought maybe some sort of power room underneath the console perhaps...

  • love it

  • the pictures aren't much it looks like they just changed the color and added stairs. I guess that's the reason why the tardis got so torn up in the last special. they are changing everything the logo the tardis i hope it doesn't back fire!

  • omg the tardis looks so different now. i hope matt smith will be a brilliant doctor. i'm still a fan of david tennant and i think i'm going to be a big fan of matt smith

  • Me too. Totally inappropriate!

  • You're gay, making a comment like that.

  • Comment removed

  • It makes perfect sense.

You said, "His Gay undertones were making me sick - seriously! ."

You're gay for making that comment. And it comes across as being a homophobe to me.

  • Comment removed

  • Because you're a homophobe, it gives me pleasure to call you gay. I'm a hetrosexual too, but I'm no homophobe. And I don't see no gay undertones with the show. The only thing that was gay, was Captain Jack Harkness.

As for intelligence, well, you tell me what gay undertones your are referring to.

  • Comment removed

  • You really aren't a Doctor Who fan, because if you were you would except that the Captain isn't gay, he loves all species male or female. You are narrow minded for only rarely out of all the time do you see the Captain kiss a guy. And what about the stories without the Captain in it, is there innuendos? I don't think so.

You're also think that gays are all the same, and that is way off. I bet you don't know any gay people personally?

  • Comment removed

  • I would like to see an old doctor myself. Just like Hartnell.

You really have a weird view of the Doctor Who world. You want to see someone who can play the character with depth and rise way above the superficial sex instinct. What in God's name are you talking about? Anyone would think that you see a lot of sexual innuendos or something so not Doctor Who in the show.

  • Comment removed

  • I can see by your comment, that you want me to be gay. I'm sorry, but I can't come to that.

But it appears that you have come out of the closet. I'm so proud of you. You've admitted to being gay. You see a lot of drama on Dr Who, and gays love their drama. Good for you. 10 Brownie points for you. I'm proud of you for coming out with it.

  • No, I'm not gay as a matter of fact, I have a girlfriend. HOWEVER, I am concerned about how you jump from a conversation about the new TARDIS to bieng gay so quickly...

  • Ummm, that comment was not directed at you, it was in fact directed at pauljohnson1.

And if you have noticed his comments have only been removed. If you follow my comments you will see that I am telling the truth.

  • The whole point of the Tardis is it has a brokendown exterior and gleaming white interior. With the money they have now they could have done a reasonable update.

  • after the old one got trashed ill say he did a good job repairing it

  • its similar yes but look more like its made of big gold speakers

  • you know what i think i think for once there staright up just gonna show us the tardis interior transformation

  • YES! I was hoping that too, they seem to be showing the costume change, sonic screwdriver change, and if you look at some of the filming pics, they have the Tennant Police Box on set, damaged and half blown-up, but it's there, so I see no reason why we shouldn't see the Console Room Change...

  • IN fact in the Christopher Eccleston/ David Tennant tardis interiuor, I never saw a door to the rest of the tardis, or am I imagining things.

  • No, you didn't the actors just walked off stage to the right, where there was a section of wall cut away.

  • god that tardis is not nice

  • I do like the half-kinda return to the 'roundels' from the old series. I guess it would be too much of a shock to only-new-series viewers if it went back to the bright white interior of old, would be cool to see given todays effects and budgets tho!

  • I do like some of the changes bieng made, but I don't think that they are going about this in exactly the right way. They are alienating old viewers by keeping a lot of the features of the new series that they dislike, and alienating the newer gen by, although showing the transition from Tennant to Smith (eg:10 suit, TARDIS Exterior , which begs the question, will we acctually see Smith in the 10 interior?,etc.) they are still changing too much. Even so, I have no doubt that it will be good :)

  • if you watch the christmas invasion with donna nobel when he flys the tardis down the street and opsns the door you can actulley see the tardis is bigger on the inside because they used 3D rendering and the room inside moves as the tardis is moving

  • IN the Christmas Invasion for the most part they just had a close up of DT leaning in the doors of the real TARDIS set, but in the few times you see him and the outside they filmed him in the set and dropped him into the film footage...

  • The TARDIS interior looks very interesting. The TARDIS from 2005-present is shit really, its nothing like this one. This one looks as if it has more to give and show, as the present one just gives one room, I think they have wrecked Doctor Who a bit for the last four years, the TARDIS is ment to have many rooms and you should be able to see them all, disappointing, but im not going againist any of the characters, the characters are great in Doctor Who, cant wait for next years series

  • Actually, in The Christmas Invasion, you see the Doctor go to the TARDIS 'wardrobe room', which can be seen to have both a down stairs and opens with the stairs in a sprial-like pattern in the middle of the room, and also another corridor going towards the screen view.

However, you only see it once. In the Unquiet Dead, the Doctor gives Rose directions to the clothing room and he is all "left, right, past this room, past that room, ect.."

  • Yeah, I know what your talking about its just disappointing that we didn't get to see a lot of the TARDIS. In the Unquiet Dead, the Doctor did give directions to Rose, but I would have liked to see the whole TARDIS, but I supposed we will see a lot in the fifth series, since Steven has taken over. He is bringing back very old enemys and he is trying to make it as it used to be, but I can't wait to see all of it.

  • The TARDIS wardrobe room was good, liked how it was huge and messy, if peoples really want to see more corridors in a New Series TARDIS search for second life videos, especialy by v1ctor1st, he has many good ones. In fact I am working on a HUGE New Series TARDIS in SL right now, cand might post a video of it XD

  • Comment removed

  • I liked the New Series one, and as much as I wanted to see more, even just part of a corridor would have done the trick, I think that not showing you more rooms lets your imagination create your perfect image, for example I imagina a MASSIVE TARDIS, bigger than any classic series ones, with great big cloister rooms and down to the smallest bedroom, with secondary consoles and loads of organics and blincky lights. Basically like my TARDIS in Second Life.. :)

  • sometimes the backround is green-screened in, for longer views of the console room, when the doctor opens the doors of the tardis in the christmas invasion "Did you miss me?" That time it was composited in by computer, at other times, when characters are stepping out of the tardis and only a glimpse of the console room is seen, they use a translight. A big print out on plastic which is lit from behind. Thats what this is, a new translight of the new console room. Doesnt show much of it though.

  • Sometimes they use the outside of the tardis tardis to shoot.

  • If people want to see more of the New Series TARDIS, if you are an adult just joic Second Life, there are loads of impressive TARDISes peoples have built, including minem XD

  • nothing to comment! We can't see a damn thing!

  • looks to be painted

  • It is, considering it's a shot from outside. They've been doing that for most of the new series.

  • I'm pretty sure they actually edit the TARDIS background interior in from the outside view using a computer.

  • If that were the case, this shot would be impossible.

  • And it would be impossible to see the characters walk in and out of the TARDIS while you still see the inside from the soutside if it weren't done on computer. :/

  • Not if the back drop was right at the inside wall.

  • well it may be, its only a back drop for the inside, but thats what it looks like anyway :)
