1:10 and 2:50, she made 2 major mistakes. I am sure that they counted those elements ,ignoring all side steps and the fact that she has absolutly unrisky from catches routine. Joke champion.

@Saraaaaar Kondakova made big mistakes on ball (lost balance, bad pivot and late of the music), a bad combined pivot on hoop and knot on ribbon for a while. Zhenya deserved the title, she is almost perfect on clubs and ribbon, small mistake on hoop and big mistake of backscale on ball , so overall it's fair!

Zhenechka is superb!!! Yes, she wasn't perfect, but who was?? Kondakova had all chances to win but she did tooooo OBVIOUS mistake with ball, practically fell down on the floor, it was tooo visble. And on the face of her coach at that moment you could read "damn!! I can't believe!! mistake again"

It all came down to who had the worst routine of the 4, ball was the worst routine of the two and of the 2 Kondakova had the worst one (plus a knot with ribbon), so yes I absoblutely think its fair.

poor thing, she was so distraught! I really think she wanted to win this without a "should she, or shouldn't she have won" stigma. (On a scandalous note: if she were any other gymnast, the value for her balance, worth .6+.7+.1=1.4, and 180 back flex, worth .6, would have been discredited. Bringing her score down to 28.00 pts.)

What a girl! She did amazing job here, won all 6 gold medals, considering Kondakova was very good too. On 3:16 she said "Please, don't tell me anything or I'll cry". Yes, she did few mistakes in ball routine but she's still first because there is no one girl who can beat her if she do her best.

@slavaro1992 Thank you for translating Zhenya's words, I was there in AA final, Zhenya is amazing even she made mistakes in hoop and ball but she deserved the tilte! I am very very happy for Zhenya it's not easy to compete under such huge pressure, her pressure is much bigger than others, keep going Zhenya, go for London!!!

@cosmos0117 You are welcome! Actually I'm not a biggest fan of rythmic gymnastics and I can watch only some girls and Zhenya Kanaeva is one of the most amazing gymnast I've ever seen. Her style, her technic are amazing. That's why she won this title ever with mistakes.

Kanaeva did not have the best day...however the pressure on this girl is tremendous. She saw she was first place and was barely able to have a reaction. I think she was so stressed about loosing even though she won everything she could she did not enjoy it as in previous years. She is an amazing athlete as are all those girls in top 24 today.
