some people use them to blow their nose...its a handkerchief. they can also be used for other things like cleaning your bike or cleaning spilt milk. a lot of people wear them as a fassion statement and others even use them as a dust mask when riding freight trains. personally I couldnt care less. if someone wants to wear/have one regardless of how they use it its not a big deal.
