When my grandma killed chickens, she just twisted their heads off. They flopped around

for about a minute after that.

It's not unusual to see it in birds.

i think it's when you get a neckshot. when your nerves are severed from something like a shot to the spinal cord, your nerves have no control over anything, so they lay still and fall to the ground, paralyzed. that's my theory.

The brain stem controls the basic functions of the body so if it is intact the body will flop around. If you hit the brain stem and destroy it the body will go limp.

I watched it in HQ and you can see the pellet impact. I'm surprised that it was still flopping after half it's head was missing.
