The first time I played this game and read this story, I was 8. This was probably my first main-story Mario game in my life, (I know, it shouldn't be). After getting a grand star and returning the Observatory I noticed a notification saying the library opened up. I figured it was another dome and headed in. I was suprised when Luma's and Rosalina were in there, and even more suprised when the story appeared. I read the first chapter and was hooked, even though I was 8. Beutiful story. ;)

Broken up, this story is rather confusing, but when you have the option to read them all at once, it makes a LOT more sense. The music is fantastic and the story is heart-breaking. Is it wrong for me to speculate that "Rose" made the observatory on Halley's Comet?

It's a nice story on the whole, I hadn't realized that Rosalina(Rose as I call her) was over a hundred years old, that might explain why she's so tall, and the Starbits grant her immortality as long as she eats them rather cool on the whole.

Why does the 7th chapter of each game has to be the saddest one? In this case, the telescope is heart-breaking and in Super Paper Mario, the end of chapter 7 is so sad (but I don't want to spoilt anything for the ones who didn't play the game).

But the search is a distraction, as the lost child doesn't want to realize that its mother is truly gone. Still, in the endless universe, the celestial mother would always be watching over the child, and the search is fruitless because the mother's been with her child the whole entire time...

Rosalina's search for the Luma's mother seems so much more like an aimless search for her own mother. Upset about her own mother, she hastily goes off with the Luma into space, maybe to also look for her mother's star. The fact of how long this search for the celestial mother takes is the largest extent that a lost child would take to find its mother, and it actually take an eternity for the child to give up.

Every time I recite these nine little chapters in my head, I am always terribly reminded of how I miss my own mother, no matter how long it's been since she's departed. I get a feeling of how lost I am without her guidance, how lonely it is to be like that little star child. But such tragedies, if "pushed" to the right direction, can make the best out of the suffering: a truly selfless and kind being, not hesitant in helping out others, especially ones you can empathize with.
