Oh, and by the way,after the tracks were straightened out, they booked just like you see now, those tracks were solid, years ago everyone rocked from side to side, the trains could only go a certain speed.

I remeber when they ovehauled the entire El system from Northeast to 69th Street, and that included installation of the ribbon track, they also added the steel cat walks on the entire El, along with the Almond joy cars being full overhauled and and ofcourse all the grafittie removal, the year was 1983-84, I had one of my first jobs at Sears in Millbourne.

Trust me, that track bed was solid, it was concrete on top and under it was steel, it is a waste that they could not find a way tp salvage it, they could have installed wider I beams to the curbs. Oh well, the new structure grows on you.
