Man it wasn't long ago I was asking my Dad "What was that programme called withe guy who used to sleep with his gun under his pillow?" And he couldn't remember and it just came to me the other day. This used to be on Sunday night in the UK along with V and Spitting Image and my Dad would let me stay up late and watch them even though I had school next morning. I would've been 9 at the time and can only remember the end of the episode where Sledge accidently detonates the nuke. Classic TV.
this show was definitely ahead of its time. the damn network didn't even have a set time for this show, it changed all the time. i guess the humor just went over the exec's heads. haha. classic tv. got all two seasons on DVD.
hammer trys to disarm a bomb, the crowd around the bomb is yelling: lets go hammer lets go, lets go hammer lets go. ONLY his chief yells: lets go BOMB, lets go! :)
Didn't you hear? The government & media said that. :P
@tasiax It seems that ever since 9-11, we've been steadily losing our freedom. I remember when they would let people watch the planes take off at the airport from outside a security fence. Since then, you can't do that anymore because of "security concerns." Then they started that shit with the TSA. Seems everything they do nowadays to reduce our freedom is because of security concerns.
@ECOOL76 Anchor Bay Entertainment has both Seasons 1 and 2 of Sledge Hammer! on DVD. The laugh track that was used in Season 1 is removed from the episodes on the DVD set. When creator Alan Spencer pitched Sledge Hammer! to ABC, ABC decided that the show with a laugh track had better results with its test audience. Spencer didn't approve of their idea, and when the series went to DVD, Anchor Bay Entertainment got rid of the laugh track.
This show kicked ass back in the day! Sledgehammer was a inspector gadget esque cop. It was such a funny show. Does anyone remember the episode where someone stole his gun?
Fantastic intro! The theme was composed for Danny Elfman. Absolutly marvelous!
