If blacks want to keep the word popular, fine. the point that i agree on, that the speech made, was that the longer anyone looks for special treatment, the more they hurt themselves. when legislation passes to "help" a specific group of people, it separates them. look at the ADA and the handicapped people. It's harder for them to find work because employers are afraid of getting sued later on down the line.

People have their own opinion but unfortunately people take their cues from what they see in the media. No one talks like that, acts like that or thinks like that in real life. It's by laws, by covenants, by white privilege, by government policy, by redlining, by job and health discrimination, etc. It is because they are black, period. i know that with me and the guys i served with, there wasn't any racism against blacks. but you're right, i agree that there will always be racism of one kind or another. why do the Shiite muslims hate the Suny muslims? they're both muslim, and yet they're racist toward each other. i'm just gonna do my part and raise kids who don't see it like that, cuz my dad didn't raise me like that. my grandpa was racist, but he's dead now, and so is his hate towards the japs.
