  • please I know you already explained the tunning in the comment section, but I didn't understand, could you specify which tuning are you using from the lower to the higher string ? like open g: DGDGBD.

    thanks, great playing =)

  • Thanks awesome! What tuning is this?

  • @usefulchannel Dropped E shape 1st position chord. Dropped 2 semi-tones. Hope that helps.

  • Guau!!!!!

  • when your feeling the blues thats when real blues comes out. and you sir are not feeling blue.

  • @sniperbait1000 Well maybe I'm just hiding it well.

    Joke: What's the difference between a 12" pizza & a guitarist?

You can feed a family of two witha 12" Pizza.

I had to sell that guitar to pay bills etc.

I knew it when I was shooting the video and hoping it would look ok.

Thanks for caring enough to comment :-)

  • @TomHunterUK welp i am sorry to hear that you sold your guitar. i feel that real music comes from how you feel, i dont just feel that way about the blues but all music. most music irritates these days. half the time i am trying to feel what there singing about. or am i being wierd? idk

  • thanks for sharing this with us

  • May I ask what tuning you are in? Sounded fantastic by the way!

  • Hi, do you mean you 'Laughed Out Loud' at it, or actually liked it, I'm not sure. I retro fitted it, not without trepidation, but sounds sweet plugged in, to me anyhow.

  • @kjtm7 Thanks :-)

  • @MrJuanpox, Hi, I'm playing in dropped D, that is, tune to the E shape chord 3 semi-tones lower than normal or concert pitch.

  • @psychedylan Thanks, see my comments above for tuning. I try to keep it simple :-)

  • O.O WELL PLAYED

  • So nice to see that blues playing , ive got a acoustic western too now from cort really nice guitar with a bottleneck , and learning this kind of slide blues:)

  • hi tom...how long does it take to be this good?

  • Sorry for a slow reply, I've been away working (truck driving containers out of Felixtstowe, Southampton & Thamesport, mobile log-in not operational at present.

A proper answer via messages on the way. Prepare for a year of slide learning. That should do it.

  • @TomHunterUK Where do you start? I've got open chords town, but riffs like this seem impossible.

  • Hi and happy New Year @LolOlliepopp,

Start with the first couple of bars of the riff you're after getting down, listen through those few bars several times until they are imprinted on your 'ear memory', the start copying slow. Basically, break it down into little chunks that are easy to remember, I started by getting down the classic intro to Dust My Broom.

Keep it simple, break it down, keep it slow until 'muscle memory' is produced, don't be impatient, it'l come.

  • @boomboxbadboy everyones different my friend!!! didnt take me long to do stuff like this, but your asking the right guy, hes great!!!

  • I like this!

  • i like :)

  • You are a great player!

  • bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo BRAVISSIMO CIAO CIAO (ITALIA)

  • Loving the fat bass!

  • Nice rendition!

  • Sounds very good...PBO

  • I'm creating a new playlist just for guitar players. You're the 1st on there too!

  • your amazing

  • Hi - what is the tuning you're using here - is it open G (D G D G B d) or open E (E B E G# B e) ?

    thanks!

  • Yes. If remember rightly it was dropped 2 semi-tones, maybe 3 with .015 top E and the rest in proportion, and tuned to the chord E which gives the lovely open shape chords for the IV and V, which used in combination with the slide and fingerpicking makes it sound really fat but distinct.

Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.

  • Is that in an open tuning? Nice playing, I enjoyed it. A pleasure meeting you. Mark

  • Thank you sir, or madam, appreciate the comments,

May love & peace rule the world rather than money & stuff!

  • Excellent! I just added your video to my favorites. I've been a guitar player for 17 years or so, but I recently bought a Fender FR-48 Steel Resonator, and i really want to learn to play it with open tuning and bottleneck. It's a whole new world for me.
