Its funny to hear everyone how they hate cops and code enforcement but the moment they rob you or hurt someone in your family you call 911 and cry to those you hate and its funny when your yard is nice and clean and your neighbors has crap all over it you call code maybe it was the neighbor who called on to complain and he went to go look but for the attitude part who knows some people just cry cause they got a ticket or a violation thats their job

i can understand code enforcement to a degree but these inspectors have no idea how bad they can screw a family, or maybe they do. if your neighbor doesnt like you they will find something wrong, you can find a violation in almost any property.the fines are absorbanant and now the countys are using code enforcement to raise much needed money.the code enforcement laws are greatly abused as of late. besides, if its my property and im paying my taxes i would be angry also.county adds fuel to fire

So many people have no idea what CEO officer actually do or what there job entails. I don't know if this will be of any help or not but again here in Louisville if you go before an appeal board and tell them you are an Iraq Vet they are usually more lax on Veterans. The reason is because if you don't comply this would be considered a misdemeanor and you would be breaking the Law and they do not like putting these kinda charges on Veterans, but again this is in Louisville.

@andychrist77 Why are they wanting the shed moved? Is this a setback regulation or a zoning issue? What i would recommend is find out what local code book the City/County is citing from and check it behind them to make sure that it is valid before moving the shed. I work for the City but this does not mean i agree with all of what they do. Just like any job you have, you wont always agree with everything. If you have any questions feel free to ask me.

@andychrist77 I definitely understand! Who really cares if your shed is in the setback or not. The CEO officer is not suppose to say no more than "I have Been sent out by the City to check your property for violations" and that's it. If you appeal the violation you are gambling but you just might win. After submitting the appeal form it stops all action by the City in till things have been resolved.This could buy some time. Sounds like you got an A#$ hole for a CEO officer!

The big problem you are going to run into is the Land Development Code. There is very little exceptions to there ordinance. CEO officers are not surveyors, with that being said i would ask to see what they used to pull off of that shows the easement-line or the setback line.At that point you are probably going to see there eyes get real big is because they didn't.The city wont have the property surveyed because it cost money.The City relies on alot of bluff! Let me know what happens.
