This is a car that will shine in todays economic climate for the fact that it will offer customers sheer value for money that would else be difficult to find, with passionate styling and a ray of excellent equipment and the refinement of a premium car.
This car not only targets people who want value for money with none of the drawbacks but also targets businesses as company cars. Ill be surprised if this doesnt sell in extremely large volumes. It is a stronger rival to the mondeo, insignia and even the new a4 than people realise!
Very nice BUT. Seat where doing fine with there new style they were coming into there own league with the latest models now there not. I think its a step back. (probabley the way the industry is going tho i can see why theyd share parts).
I have been studying all sorts of reviews on the Exeo. I know for certain that this will be a jolly nice car. Excellent Audi quality and superb smooth common-rail diesel engines. It also looks good.
It is mainly from the last Audi A4 which was a very nice car.The dashboard is actually from the convertible which apparently was even better quality I read in a review yesterday. You get a good quality car at good price.
Acabo de crear el club de propietarios y aficionados al SEAT Exeo, si os quereís pasar por la web estaremos encantados de acogeros, pues acabamos de empezar y aún somos muy pocos. La web es clubseatexeo . com
I have a Toledo Saloon which has been a great car for me. I am glad Seat have brought back a Saloon ... and now better than ever as it is an Audi A4 for less money. Can't wait to get one
Volkswagen have always managed to share components and platforms between its several brands, but I belive that with the Exeo they have gone too far. They have only changed the front grille and tail lights. This kind of "recycling" is very disappointing because SEAT designs tend to be more passionate and trendy. The so-called "new" Exeo is quite boring indeed, and doesn't fit into SEAT range. They doesn't even care if the door handles are different to the ones used in all the other SEAT cars.
We will just have to see when it appears. The main good thing is, that apparently the interior quality is outstanding. Very recently Seat plastics were cheaper, so maybe this car will genuinely be of higher interior standard.
I have an incredibly good and friendly Seat Dealer (Platinum Award)on the south side of Dublin city. I also used to have excellent service from a local main Seat dealer when I lived for 10 years in Sidmouth.I am lucky!!
You get excellent quality for less money. I am delighted that the interior etc comes straight from the outgoing Audi A4. The car is also not oversized like many competitors. It looks good and has my vote!
good looking car front and back. shame they never changed the very A4 sides though! I went from renault to seat and i bloody love it! very german, yet spanish! ha!
The VAG Group has always successfully shared components and platforms.Keeps costs down. This car is closely linked with the last Audi A4.You get high quality interior apparently and the latest common-rail 2.0 diesel from Audi.
The Seat Exeo is very much of interest to me.I have owned three VWs and a Seat Toledo TDiSE (Seat was bought new at end of 1999).The Seat is the best of the cars I've owned.I also have an excellent local main Seat dealer near my home in Dublin.
This car will be good. I read a report on a road test yesterday. The inside is comfortable and very good quality.I personally prefer a car like this and no bigger,as it is easy to park.
horcko. I have always bought VAG cars and I know they have very sensibly part shared and platform shared for donkeys years. My previous cars were all VWs and my present car is a Seat as I mentioned previously.
The VW group out there, very successfully changed and modernised completely older models and were very successful in doing so.I can fully understand people liking or not liking the idea;but I certainly would enjoy an Exeo with the modern 2.0 diesel engine.I feel cars are getting rediculously big and hard to park in tight spots.
oh, well, in s-africa that may work. and i do like the exeo....i do agree with you on what you say, i am talking specifically about the euro-market. seat simply can't find its space in the market, declining sales are proof. i just read that vw wants to put seat to sleep...
I know exactly what you mean. when I got my Seat Toledo at the end of 1999 when I worked in East Devon, the Toledo was more upmarket than the Skoda Octavia.I still have that Toledo and it is superb (quantities of free extras). They still work after 162000-163000 miles.I heard thet the inside of the Exeo is very good quality. If they had to build a new car from scratch the inside would have to be cheaper (overheads).
The Exeo looks good in a light colour.I feel it is the right car in these difficult times.Much better looking than some of the recent Seats and much more plush with good quality inside.
no doubt about the quality, i don't question that at all; just, it's a bit surprising that VW didn't put in more efforts to differentiate the EXEO from the former A4 - but I think SEAT does not have enough money left to develop a new car by itself (so to speak: by VW). A sign of a lingering Brand and most probably to be axed soon (as rumours have been spread before). Don't you think so?
I have read various rumours;but personally I would much rather have the looks of this car over another low cast VW Brand. The last A4 was a very nice car.I don't need these enormous new cars that have recently sprung up from much smaller cars of the same model. The one new large car I love is the Citroen C5.That Croation did a fabulous job.
Hmm, actually hard to disagree with you on your statement. Yes, the old A4 was (and still is) a fabulous car, so the EXEO can't do much wrong I suppose. I owned a CX before. it was so comfortable, that I regularly fell asleep in those sofa-chairs, lol. But it caused me too much trouble, I wouldn't buy a C5 anymore. The Style is awesome though. I'd love to see it with a small V8...I might reconsider a Citroen. Cheers.
Thanks for the interesting message. After driving a Honda Accord (old shape but nice) 2.4 petrol automatic sports hard suspension as a hired car in Cape Town last Christmas -New Year holiday, I was really impressed with Honda.I got used to the automatic and loved it.I would consider a new Accord some time in the future.
i only had 1 manual shift car in my life. it was a sports car and even then, i heavily, heavily favour auto-transmission by any means. i have not driven any japanese cars recently. my last experience was the PRIUS I, which, and please allow me to say so, was so awefully boring, i nearly fell asleep (symbolically meant of course). i personally tend to american or german cars - how about an EXEO then? lol:)
I only drive manual throughout my life. In South Africa I forgot I was driving automatic and nearly got hit behind when accidentally I forgot and pressed my left foot on the brake.never ever use left foot in automatic!!!!!! After that I really loved the automatic Honda Accord. I became a natural with automatic after the first day. With the Exeo I would definitely buy manual diesel 2.0 diesel.
what's this all about with manual transmission? I mean, I can drive quite sporty with autotransmission. I can control the gears with gas, manually or by speed (!). Ha, I see: once you drive auto, you want nothing else then! Good! Diesels don't rev much, but have this nice ass-kicking (forgive me this word) punch when accelerating. What about the 2.5 Audi-Diesel? You ever drove that one? Or the new 1.4 Gas w/supercharge & Turbo?
No I test drove an automatic C Class mercedes 200 petrol. First time ever driving automatic. Then of course I drove the auto Honda Accord in South Africa. The automatic was great.I drive so much and change gear very quickly and very smoothly manually.Normally manual is much more economic. The honda Accord had twin clutch I think.Full automatic on left side and you pressed the button on gear stick to change gear faster etc, so it must have had 2 clutches?
hm..no, that's not the 2-clutch-thing. just electronically controlled, so it sweeps from one gear into the next one with the least loss of time, gives the impression of a double-clutch. but, please, i may be mistaken on the technological status on honda. as far as i know, only cars of major german producers have introduced this system. but as i say, i can be wrong about it..
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
but thats not the thing, if i see the car in real life, it wont change my mind, it just doesnt look like it can delivery much, it just looks like the same family saloon with standered extras, when i see the brochure, then ill change my mind!
When I first saw the car in magazines I was really disapointed, as it seemed a A4 with diferent face, but I saw it in Paris Motorshow and I was really impressed, this car is really lovely, more beautifull than a Mondeo, C5, Laguna, ... Just wait to see it live.
mondeos and the c5 are in compltely different car classes mate, theyre more impressive to see and they come with better luxuries, and heres also the matter that theyre bigger saloons than the new exeo. was the paris motorshow good? im going back to geneva in march
You may well be surprised when the Exeo appears. They are pushing it up in class.I thoroughly respect the C5 and the Mondeo. The C5 is a lovely looking car particularly in black and I sat in both those cars.I was impressed with both.I think the Exeo would be much easier to park My present Toledo from 1999 has absolute quantities of extras and luxuries.
it doesnt even look like it can deliver luxuries etc, but seriously, this is the first time ive seen this and the first time ive heard of it, ill need to look into what it comes with as standered and extra, ahh being a car enthusiast just gets better and better
my favourite of those new cars would be the C5; but both the Mondeo and the Citroen are a great deal bigger and my present seat Toledo TdiSE still does around 60 mpg on long runs even after 162,000 very reliable miles.
FPVsean. The new Mondeo and the new Citroen C5 are indeed very exceptional cars in their own right. In the UK and Ireland (I come from and live in Dublin),the Ford Mondeo is understandably a very big seller. They have done an amazing job.The Citroen C5 is a lovely car also.I love both these cars in black.I sat in both and was very impressed. The C5 is beautiful in black.
It looks indeed like an Audi A4 but with one significant difference, much cheaper and with more options than it's Audi brother. same with the VW Golf compared to the Seat Leon you get more extra's for the same amount of money so my eyes are focused on this beauty.
I was working in Devon in 1999 when I purchased my lovely Seat Toledo TDiSE. It came with far more extras than the oposition at that time, pages and pages of free extras. After more than 162,000 miles it still is in amazing condition and incredibly reliable with amazing economy and excellent performance (particularly overtaking torque).
Nice car, a friend of mine has also a Seat Toledo, but the 1997 version, with 90 hp TDI engine, and he makes 28 km per liter. The car has now 280000 km but still feels like new. He has a rebel master tuningbox and the car is an airplane, makes 0 to 60 mph in less than 10 secs with lots of torque from the idle. It makes 198 kmh measured with a GPS. And the car was very cheap!!! Simply a bargain!!!
Nothing wrong with this. Many car companies have shared parts and platforms for years. You get a good car at a lower price. The old Audi A4 was a nice car.
Whoever says it's pathetic better check out what car they own and how much they paid for it... My congradulations to seat and the whole VW group for finding an excellent cost-cutting method using the same platform and for being an excellent car manufacturer!
So if you wanna have the quality of an Audi A4 but with a cheaper price just buy a Seat Exeo. Its a good idea, considering a lot of people can't afford buying an Audi.
Dude iam from europe we all know that vw seat audi and skoda are one big happy vw family powerd by Pon who is also owner of porsche lamborgini and bently
but its still a rip off and i think that seat should be focusing more on their own designs like the new leon and so on
Seat its like a second class mark of the VW-Audi group, like Skoda.
Its not a Seat decision, but an entire VW-Audi group decision, to get the platform of the old A4 (excellent car) and re-use it to buy a Seat. This is the future and reduces a lot of costs.
This has been done over several years with a lot of cars of this group, and another groups do it too.
If this car really is made up with mostly ex A4 bits,I'm delighted and want to put my name down for one.
I have a superb friendly local Seat dealer. I can have nothing but praise for them. As I said platform sharing etc is the future. Most car companies do similar things.I heard interesting stories from a taxi driver amongst others.
It's sensible JoNnY0702. You get a very good and mostly previously proven car at a very good price.Sharing platforms and components is an excellent idea, the only way forward with today's problem currency markets.
nice!! a SEAT-badged volkswagen!.. or is it a SEAT-badged audi.. doesn't matter XD its really nice but I think they at least could have changed the car from the waist up to differ from the other vehicles using the B7 plat. (I think its that 1) audis at seat price!! haha JK

It is clever if they use sharing,as it is very important in these hard financial times. You will get a good car for much less.

Whoever says it's pathetic better check out what car they own and how much they paid for it... My congradulations to seat and the whole VW group for finding an excellent cost-cutting method using the same platform and for being an excellent car manufacturer!

Better buy an Audi...
OpelGTC 3 years ago
So if you wanna have the quality of an Audi A4 but with a cheaper price just buy a Seat Exeo. Its a good idea, considering a lot of people can't afford buying an Audi.

I totally agree with you nixxxon18. My Seat Toledo from 1999 has done 162,000 miles and will be brilliant for years to come.

HaHa They riped it off for cheap
st33fie 3 years ago
lol ripoff? Audi and Seat are both part of the Volkswagen group. They are like "sister" brands.
nixxxon18 3 years ago 4
Dude iam from europe we all know that vw seat audi and skoda are one big happy vw family powerd by Pon who is also owner of porsche lamborgini and bently
but its still a rip off and i think that seat should be focusing more on their own designs like the new leon and so on
st33fie 3 years ago
Seat its like a second class mark of the VW-Audi group, like Skoda.
Its not a Seat decision, but an entire VW-Audi group decision, to get the platform of the old A4 (excellent car) and re-use it to buy a Seat. This is the future and reduces a lot of costs.
This has been done over several years with a lot of cars of this group, and another groups do it too.

Looks like your typical everyday car to me. Except it's a concept, which is quite ugly. Well not ugly, but boring on the outside.
youmils03 3 years ago
If this car really is made up with mostly ex A4 bits,I'm delighted and want to put my name down for one.
I have a superb friendly local Seat dealer. I can have nothing but praise for them. As I said platform sharing etc is the future. Most car companies do similar things.I heard interesting stories from a taxi driver amongst others.

ohh what a suprise looks like an a4 how boring
JoNnY0702 3 years ago
It's sensible JoNnY0702. You get a very good and mostly previously proven car at a very good price.Sharing platforms and components is an excellent idea, the only way forward with today's problem currency markets.
cattleman6420012000 3 years ago
yea true. could be cool if they bring out a cupra r version
JoNnY0702 3 years ago
I totally agree with you. I also hope they make the interior reasonably good quality,as the old Audi A4 had good quality plastics etc.
cattleman6420012000 3 years ago
i think it is the last audi a4 model not the new one

petrolhead321. I also really liked the old A4. The new one does give more leg space in the rear etc; but the old one was a jolly fine car.
cattleman6420012000 3 years ago
Nice looking car. I look forward to the finished product. My present Seat Toledo is going superbly at 162,000 miles. I love the car.
cattleman6420012000 3 years ago
it's the old audi A4, which don't get me wrong is a good thing I love the old A4, even better than the new one.

I wonder if thats a 3D model or the actuall thing.. Impossible to tell nowadays.

nice!! a SEAT-badged volkswagen!.. or is it a SEAT-badged audi.. doesn't matter XD its really nice but I think they at least could have changed the car from the waist up to differ from the other vehicles using the B7 plat. (I think its that 1) audis at seat price!! haha JK
