The Blackout wasn't created or sponsored by a "fringe group". If you're talking about the YouTube Underground, well members of it participated and I personally made some suggestions to the creator that he implimented, but we all made our own call as far as participation goes.
Also, he Blackout was a MASSIVE success. I hope people that thought it was pointless think about why they were wrong before I explain it to them with a video this (Monday) evening.

I think it will be okay. When you get the vast majority together....things get taken away. Free speech, and so on. I thinks its ok, to censor half naked women, danceing on a pole...because thats what youporn is for. This should be a place to speak your mind, and if it has content that is of an adult nature, as far as language, boobs, and so on....it should have a disclamer...for the children. Just as long as you can still speak your mind, I think we will be allright.

I usually agree with Greg but the fact is Youtube is owned by Google and we know how Google was locked hand in hand with China over furthering censoring the internet from the chinese people. Greed trumps all as we've seen from companies like them. Freedom of speech as well as information was the basis of the internet but Google would crush that in heartbeat if they could make money. The Blackout wasn't created or sponsored by a "fringe group". If you're talking about the YouTube Underground, well members of it participated and I personally made some suggestions to the creator that he implimented, but we all made our own call as far as participation goes.
Also, he Blackout was a MASSIVE success. I hope people that thought it was pointless think about why they were wrong before I explain it to them with a video this (Monday) evening.
