@valleystylez The average home takes a 40 Gallon you don't really want any thing less then that. If your in a home with a lot of people teens, you may want at least a 50 Gallon and if you have a large home with over 4 baths and a large master tub you may want to put 2-40 gallons or 2-50 gallons side by side and then theres the tankless endless hot water,

@dureyes No you don't have to use pipe dope on the dielecrtice unions. the washer is the middle is enough seal.
