  • is this the music from 28 weeks later and days later..

  • Mogwai's music is a little dramatic considering the material, don't you think?

  • very nice camera dude. i have my canon xl-2 for some time now and have finally figure out how to use all the controllers and FX. i am think of just purchasing a glide cam instead of a dolly. it cost more but its just more mobile

  • CANON xl1 is my dream =((((((

i should stop whores/cocaine and chips just to save money for this cam.

  • not to rain on you parade but that is the new model the xl2 not the xl1.

  • Just being honest but we saw two undetailed pictures and then a lot of footage of how the shots look. I thought maybe we might have seen how to make a $40 camera dolly...

  • ...check the video response for the tutorial.

  • Hi, Ryan. I just watched the video. Neat system and easily transportable. Thanks for the heads up on the video, my bad for not noticing that before! Cheers, Rob.

  • Glad you enjoyed!

  • xL1 or 2?

  • XL2

  • how much that run you?

  • I sign it out for free from my school. They run $4000 new and half that used.

  • nice. i got a canon gl1

  • hey, on the XL2, do you find reaching for the rocker zoom really annoying?

its really hard to do it without bumping the camera for me.

  • It is kind of difficult to do if the camera is on a tripod. In those cases, you could use the additional rocker zoom on the top handle, or the zoom ring on the lens, or even the zoom controls that come with the camera's remote control.

  • i dont think the top one is variable though.

and im not good enough to keep it smooth with the ring, lol.

i think ill try and get the control thing to shove on the handle of the tripod.

  • Yep, in that case your best bet will be using the included remote to zoom.

  • nah, i mean the optional thingy, its meant to go on the arm of a tripod.

  • Hmm, didn't know that Canon made one of those, but I guess that would work a bit better than the remote. Go for it!

  • darn. i cant find a link, but i was doing an event where an XL2 had one. it has a proper rocker zoom, zoom speed adjustment, focus.

its canon branded. but i dont remember a model number. ill ask next time i see the guy that owns it.

  • Nice!! I want your XL2.

  • The song was used in 28 days later, who wrote it?

  • how to use a camera dolly w/o touching it?

    (use r/c parts)

    try this one........

i'll watch for it next time , see if you can do it????????????

    with pan & tilt action

  • nice XL2 man

  • This vid makes me fucking mad!

  • Points to consider:

    - Slower movement to ensure correct focus

    - Smoother camera movement. It was a little jerky in places.

    - Edit with the music in mind

    x Good work, though...

  • Thanks for the comment. This was quickly done to show online. In my newest video, "Friend In Need, Friend Indeed", the dolly is used in a better manner. That, plus stabilizing in After Effects creates an amazing production look.

  • Hey, is that song from "28 Weeks later"?

Oh, and don't waste your time building a dolly...just buy a paintedsheep dolly seen here on youtube!

  • I think it is, you can find it on youtube lol

  • This is great! You are an inspiration to DIY filmmakers everywhere!

  • The tutorial has been uploaded! It's the video response.

  • hice can you make a tutorial vid?

  • Thanks! It's a blast using it!

  • Hey, sweet. The movement looks great.
