see, i dont understand why sasuke was soo sad wen he saw that rasengan did more damage to the water tank. The nature of their attacks are different. Rasengan is supposed to blow shit up and chidori is supposed to increasing more peircing power. Picture rasengan like a giant hammer swinging wildly around and a chidori being a rapier, quick swift and fatal stabs. If he wants a blowy uppy jutsu, stick to great fireball, it woudve burned the whole Goddamn tank to ash.

The chakara that's used for Kirin is the chakara used for the Dragon Fire, which isn't quite that much, less than Chidori. I didn't need a description on Kirin either.

I wasn't talking about the chakra used to launch a Kirin, I was talking about the fact that you need a gouoryuuka no jutsu (That's great dragon fire, a jutsu that requires much more chakra than dragon fire), and even then Naruto still dodges, the blast zone for kirin and Rasenshuriken are almost the same, the only difference is the nature of the attacks, they have almost the same destructive power. The techniques are of the same level.

Erm, I was explaining how Kirin is "used". Using one jutsu, which doesn't take any prep time, to form a near-unstoppable blast of lightning doesn't show a great amount of restriction on the technique. I don't see how Naruto could ever dodge Kirin, if you have the how to for Naruto, please share with me. As for the techniques being similar; the only similarity between them is that they create craters and are S-Rank. The entirety of the two techniques have nothing to do with each other otherwise.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of manipulation, both nature and shape are needed in high quantities and harmony for both it seems. There is prep time, but in the middle of a thunderstorm I guess that's cut out, so there's exceptions, and I don't perfectly remember the Sasuke vs. Itachi fight so I think Itachi dodged the Kirin, and in Sennin mode I believe Naruto to be faster than Itachi, so all I'm saying is he could dodge it. However, this is for Kishimoto to decide.

sasuke and naruto are almost evenly matched in the manga/naruto surpasses him.

jiraiya taught him to go into sennin mode (sage mode), which lets him absorb his natural environments energy, which is neverending. counter this with the kyuubi, and wind rasengan, and his much faster speed and power with the sage mode, compared to sasuke's mangekyou sharengan, and full body chidori, it's not really much of a dispute seeing as itachi took care of the curse seal. Naruto rules, hands down.
