Im currently playing guitar in 'Summer Holiday'. Got the score very late.
One of the many great aspects of Hank Marvin's technique is his ability to play while muting at the bridge on a Strat, without disturbing the volume knob or whammy bar. I borrowed a Strat for this gig, and you sure get the sound.
Forgot to add, the 69 sort of Shads ( M, W and F ) version of this on their Live in Japan LP is a monster, knocks this into a whatever type of hat you knock things into. ( Forgoteen the saying!)
Modern is not always good. I saw the Shads first in 77, and they sounded like the 60s outift, saw them again years later, and they had changed to this sanitised sound. For Shads fans, well, you'll know this was perhaps still is a bone of contention with Bruce, and he goes to a convention each year where capturing the original sound is much prized. I do like this number, but the 64 orig' only.
As a Shadows fan from the start, I hated this number. It marked their transition from Britain's greatest rock instrumental group to 'all round family entertainers' with dinner jackets, velvet bow ties and pantomime.
its fucked i gotta playthis on drums it isss fairly easy but god its hard to rememberv off by heart (ive only been trying this peice for a week and i got it but now i got to perform it infront of like everyone in my school
Great stuff but Hank looks exactly the same as he did in 1958 - very strange!

Their ability to adopt is one of the reasons their music last so long.
They went back close to 60'sound on 2004 and 2009 tours, thought
