  • Great stuff but Hank looks exactly the same as he did in 1958 - very strange!

  • I remember I watched this concert on my VHS tape. Now it's completly torn :)

  • no point in gettin werked up when ya got the Shadows

  • awesome

  • No mistaking that sound!

  • just starting to learn how to play this myself

  • Foot Tapper -- probably one of the most aptly-named tunes in pop history. Love this catchy tune.

  • cliff never sounded better ;o)

  • Hank and the band exude good vibes - long live the Shadows!

  • Im currently playing guitar in 'Summer Holiday'. Got the score very late.

One of the many great aspects of Hank Marvin's technique is his ability to play while muting at the bridge on a Strat, without disturbing the volume knob or whammy bar. I borrowed a Strat for this gig, and you sure get the sound.

    Hats off to Hank

  • geweldig

  • Pétula Clarke chantait: "Mon bonheur danse..."

  • Pétula Clarke disait: "Mon bonheur danse..."

  • NO ! The first bass player was Jet Harris, drums Tony Meehan, rithmic Bruce Welch, and solo Hank Brian Marvin.

HBM (Hank Brian Marvin) will be the name give to the famous guitar FENDER, the stratocaster ...

  • is the bass player an orginal shadow? and was he the bass player on their recent tour with cliff?

  • @hackman71

    No and Yes :D

  • Forgot to add, the 69 sort of Shads ( M, W and F ) version of this on their Live in Japan LP is a monster, knocks this into a whatever type of hat you knock things into. ( Forgoteen the saying!)

  • Modern is not always good. I saw the Shads first in 77, and they sounded like the 60s outift, saw them again years later, and they had changed to this sanitised sound. For Shads fans, well, you'll know this was perhaps still is a bone of contention with Bruce, and he goes to a convention each year where capturing the original sound is much prized. I do like this number, but the 64 orig' only.

  • @Joshua12345

Their ability to adopt is one of the reasons their music last so long.

They went back close to 60'sound on 2004 and 2009 tours, thought

  • Brian Bennett the king of drums.

  • As a Shadows fan from the start, I hated this number. It marked their transition from Britain's greatest rock instrumental group to 'all round family entertainers' with dinner jackets, velvet bow ties and pantomime.

  • Cliff richards left the shadows

He was signed up with a record company but without the shadows

    LEE
