The worst feeling ever. I'm so glad someone has talked about looking at your arms but feeling as though they aren't yours. Sometimes I have to put wieghts on my hands or carry heavy bags to prevent panic attacks. The waves of terror and dizziness are aweful. I got my first attack at 25 and ended up in the hospital. It has now been a year and I'm doing better but I still cry at the thought of a panic attack.
Thank you for this. I have a hard time comprehending panic attacks, being that I've never had one. I did watch a few vids here to get an idea about the psychology of them, and the consensus is the same. I can tell they're miserable. Most importantly, I know how to be compassionate now that I'm older. I kind of fumbled this part with my ex-wife. I'm going to use the getting older card for my use of the word consensus too, I think this is the first time. I hope your well over on that east coast.
like you cant get air, and even tho yer breathing you can get oxygen and u feel u cant breathe on your own without being conscience of it, and like yer stomache and chest is a pit or tight like a hole bah i hate them
Andrea, you are so right! People that have never had them have no idea how debilitating they are. I have had them for about 8 years, in various forms. The worst were after I had a heart attack. The few months following the MI you always think you are going to have another one and so every time you have a symptom it turns into a panic attack, just awful.I started to take medication for them at that time and an antidepessant. Since then I have only had 2 or 3 very mild ones. Very scary indeed.

It used to be that even if I 'thought' about getting one, I'd start to get one.

It's the worst feeling. I get them really bad in cars
and airplanes. Mine just started 2 years ago.
Are you on meds for them? They are draining.
