  • Both are extremely hard. If you asked an artistic gymnast to do rhythmic, she would most likely tear something and look like a wooden block on the floor. If you asked a rhythmic gymnast to do artistic, she would most likely break a bone and fall every two seconds. They are not the same and you can not say one is more difficult than the other.

  • both very beautiful, but i prefer artistic because I'm not really a fan of dancing.

  • I like all gymnatsics i like rg because there really flexible and ag cuz its cool but both have 1 thing in common that they giv u flexibilety and strength

  • I used to be an artistic gymnast for almost 10 years and AG will always be my passion. But I get really mad when people say that RG is easy or stupid. Rhythmic gymnasts are extremely flexible, graceful and elegant and they have work extremely hard to achieve that and people should respect them even if they don't like them. For me, AG is the only sport that can take my breath away but that doesn't mean that I'll insult all the other sports.

  • I LOVE AG its way harder then RG

  • The ball does more flips then the gymnast in RG!

  • in my opinion i think artistic is harder

  • I always believed that if the floor routines in artistic gymnastics were choreographed by r.g. choaches then artistic gymnastics would be even more magical than it is.

  • Please, tell me, who are the girls with red costumes in 1.58?

  • I've been trying to figure out differences between Artistic and Rhythmic for a while now (since I saw Artistic gymnastics mentioned on Make It or Break it) I had never heard of artistic gymnastics only power and rythmic and I've been searching on the internet like "what's the difference what is this" and I always got these things saying "this is better no this is" Finally I found this video and t answered my question for just a basic knowledge thanks! =)

  • I think that we shoulnd'nt compare the two & waste our time deciding wich is harder. They are both beautiful, gracious, and strong. They are differant and painfull in their own ways. they r both painful. & people who say rg is easy..its not. can u stand a 180 pound person sitting on you while you do a split on a chair? Can you do 6 pirouhettes before catching 2 clubs ?Lol, i dont think so. BUT, AG is more dangerous, and requires more WAY more tumbling. therefore, they r hard in their own way.

  • I do artistic gymnastics and i didnt really know too much about rhythmic gymnastics and its looks very graceful :) ..it looks cool to try but i still fink artistic gymnastics has the most wow factor... but the fleibility in rythmic gymnastics is incredible!! ♥

  • @dancesisters101 All of that is true to artistic gymnastics too...

  • Some comments here seem to be coming from people who really don't even know much about the sport. Arguing about the name of the sport... Why americans call football soccer? I am not arguing about that. There are more dangerous injuries in artistic gymnastics because of the nature of the sport. But it is difficult to argue which one is more difficult overall as it takes long time to prepare a rythmic gymnast. If you were at least a dancer, you would know that these girls do seemingly impossible

  • both are AWESOME but AG is more life threataning than RG

  • artistics wins!!

  • nice!

  • Flips

  • For yhis

  • i would like to join to gymnastics club, but I can't decide between artistic and rhythmic gymnastics. plz help me! i'm flexible a lot, but i don't have any muscle mass and i'm not so strong. should i go to AG or RG???

  • @lindasabby well if youre rly flexible, then try rg. both require a lot strength (in different ways), but you would build it up the more you do either one. its entirely up to you. ag also calls for flexibility, too keep in mind.

  • @lindasabby artistic gymnastics!!!!!!!

  • the only thing that AG e RG have in common is the name "gymnastics"....

  • Just one small technicality I have a problem with in this video; it's not backflips, it's tumbling passes. Backflips don't even begin to describe the passes; most of them include double pikes, back handsprings, and layouts. Other than that, cool video.

  • does this music have words in it by anychance because i am an acrobat trying for worlds and i am looking for really good music??

  • thanks for posting this, I love it...

Looking forward to London 2012 - We have tickets for the Gymnastics, yay!

  • You can also tell the diffrence because aristic gymnasts tend to be more muscular in the legs and arms and end up usually getting big calves and rhythmic tend to be slimmer and may be muscular in the thighs but still small in the thighs and not very muscular in the arms.

  • Well...I don't think there's more grace in RG. I think that the rhythmyc gymnasts tend to show figures and insist on them, showing their technique and flexibility when artistic gymnasts always put many figures tied toghether, making their body always change position in very short time: I think this make movements appear like water flowing and it's extremely cool! Anyway I love RG flexibility.

  • So, Bessonova is your favorite R.gymnast right ? :p

  • Rhythmic gymnastics are more to flexibility and artistic are more To SUPER upper body Strength...If you search images for artistic gymnastics men They have great Muscless

  • @hadi257 exactly and some womens too but less because womens make little less difficulty than men's ag

  • i do rhythmic gymnastics i love it :)

  • Hi! I loved your video and I am a gymnast myself. Could you please watch and comment on my video? It has 0 views. It is called rhythmic and artistic gymnastics montage. Please?

  • rhythmic gymnastics takes alot more skill, but both are very hard to do

  • i love this sport since i was 5...hope i could influence my future daughter to this .......

  • thank thank thank you for posting this. i cannot believe HOW MANY TIMES I tell someone I do gymnastics and then they go, "Oh really? Do a flip!" Then they seem all smug when I try to explain the differences between rhythmic and artistic.

  • we all know which one is better ;)

  • I nee help. Can I still start gymnastics at 13 or 15??? Im not flexible :(

  • 2:28 + omg! that girl is so strong and talented! thats amazing

  • @SmittenKitten75 you should see acrobatic gymnastics

  • rhythmic gymnastics is awsum i found this poem online about rg! just google ""forever in the shadows" figment""

  • rhythmic gymnastics is awsum i found this poem online about rg

  • Rhythmic gymnastics us better in my opinion :)

  • * -3

  • :) I rlly like Anna bessoniva. She's a good rhythmic gymnast I think -3 lol

  • GRACE: RHYTHMIC

    ORIGINALITY:RHYTHMIC

    LEAPS: RHYTHMIC

    PIVOTS: RHYTHMIC

    THE ART: RHYTHMIC

    ELEGENCE: RHYTHMIC!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • artistic gymnasts check out... evgenia kanaeva, anna bessonova, inna zhukova ball 2006, daria kondakova, daria dmitrieva

for more elements and originality on RG

  • hmmm the huge misconception of rhythmic gymnasts that they are NOT physically strong as artistic gymnasts but that is not true you need so much leg strength arm strength and amazing core strength to do over 6 ''pirrowets'' most rhythmic gymnasts actually have 6 packs like kanaeva. how do you think rhythmic gymnast leap and pivot so great it is not because they are twigs they are very very strong too

  • Rhythmic training hurts!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the big difference too! I do it and we cry but then we get better :)

But in our gym the artistic gymnasts coaches always say good job yay though in rhythmic they say why didn't you try harder an that's was terrible

But they both have there differences

  • @DanceSisters101 Because AG doesn't hurt ? falling of bars, or beam, bad landing doesn't hurt ? do you know how many injuries and surgeries an artistic gymnst has to go through ? Do you know how badly it hurt some of them ? I know stretching is pretty hard too but don't tell "rythmic training hurts, that's the big difference". In term of pain, I think AG is unbeatable.

  • @Missnewyork28 its not just streching u dont think pulling a muscle hurts, twisting ur ankle evry week just to perfect and dont get me wrong AG is painful but if u do it the right way its not as bad as RG cuz we sit on chairs in split and get pushed down hard now u try that and tell me if that hurts as much as falling off a beam once or twice. Yes maybe AG u can break ur leg but then u only do that in more advanced levels we can break our necks so they are both painful in different ways

  • Wow I thought this vid was gonna b bias to one or the other, artistic does hav lots of strength, but in my floor and beam my coaches stuff in pretty dance moves, and are always like " chin up!!! Sholdurs back!!! Pointing toes!!!" bla bla bla ( I think that's the same w/ both sports lol)

  • rhytmic 4ever!

  • i disagree with number 6&7 artistic gymnastics isnt about just strength we also have just as much grace and dance and we have corrdination which is also in artistic gymnastics. so both sports are equal and rhythmic gymnastics is not "basically artistic gymnastics" they are two totally different and beautiful sports.

  • @gymnast857 Honey, its MORE ABOUT STRENGTH, not just about strength :)

  • Really love rhythmic gymnastic!!

  • thanks for the video!

  • by the way, where did you get the rg videos? The quality is great!

  • @RisikaFear I've found them over various sites and forums.

  • rhythmics is clearly the better of the two

  • @bucky1902 well, then you don't know anything. rhythmic gymnastics is basically gymnastics and dance combined; it's a beautiful sport as is artistic gymnastics.

  • @bucky1902 you don't have to be so rude about it. in fact, im blocking you because im not going to waste my time on someone who won't be respectful to the people that take the time to train everyday to perfect a wonderful sport.

  • @bucky1902 oh and i just realized, youre an immature 13 year old, so therefore, you really have no right to insult RG.

  • @bucky1902 wow i think your retarded

  • @bucky1902

Lmao at internet threats. You reek of insecurity. You couldn't hurt a fly. Don't speak about it be about it. How is it you comment on the user's video she writes you back and you tell her to mind her business yet she's the one who posted the video. What a fool. Grow up little girl.

  • @fashiondesigner552 Although I'm doing artistic gymnastics and I'm a huge fan of them, I think that rythmic gymnastics are more graceful and spectacular.

But I want to say that I prefer artistic gymnastics!

But this is just my opinion!

  • @bucky1902

haha, retarded? rytmisk är minst lika svårt som artistisk, om inte svårare... men de är svåra på olika sätt

  • @bucky1902 haha, retarded? rhythm is at least as difficult as artistic, if not harder ... but they are difficult in different ways

  • @bucky1902 are you nutz?sport+grace+elegance=rhythmic! and what is artistic? length+0 emotions+uglyness= artistic! so strange why is artistic called artistic and not rhythmic. and why rhythmic is called rhythmic and not artistic. in artistic there is all about rhythm and how many walkovers you do and in rhythmic we have grace elegance. elegant and smart moves, not like artistic!!!!!!!!

  • @anukitskitishvili: Not everybody sees things the same way so you shouldn't try to make people see it your way. You can't see the art, that's you and it's ok, nobody's telling you to find the art in it or die.

  • @wirsindheldenFTW you know what? you're right! why should I die cause someone don't likes RG

  • @bucky1902 you retarted and if you think you can beat me up

ohhh.... than you got another thing comming.

  • @bucky1902 you are an idiot,a very,very big idiot

  • Love this vid! Especially because i was trying to pick between which one to do! I think I'll go Artistic Gymnastics one of the reasons is because i have strong arms!

  • Great comparison... I'd like to add sotmehing more, though... with some strange sense of humour ;) Differences (68% +/- σ) RG: 1. slender 2. stunning beauties... or upholstered sceletons 3. pure caoutchouc AG: 1. stubby 2. musclular shrimps 3. ninjas! Similarities: The majority is flat-chested... BUT both AG and RG are beautiful in their own way and I cannot do nthn else but admire those ppl who are in any of those two "teams". tnhx for the upload ;) it's kewl :))
  • @AzziElboube don`t be mean where not stubby

  • @squidgiepoo

    Sry. No ofence! :)

May be thickset is a better term?

However, I do not intend to insult anyone. It's just a comparison ;).

    Cheers.

  • @AzziElboube thats ok but alot of WAG gymnast arent stubby

  • not bad

  • I take RG. my mom got me started when I was only 5 because I had always been aparently I had always been very graceful. now I'm 13 and I am still doing it:) I also take twirling and danceing. I think that danceing and RG have really helped me with twirling which is my fave b/c I am able 2 put all 3 sports 2gether in my routines:) I am telling u if u have a daughter who takes twirling put her in RG

  • dont mean to be a bummer but im in AG and were equally graceful... :) (but there is more DANCE in RG )

    but still great video :)

  • wow great video :)

  • Whoa the girl at 2:25-41 is really amazing, how did she manage to achieve such amazing balance and be so gracious? I can't even stand on my hands for more than a couple of seconds without falling.

All these girls doing rythmic gymnastics were also great.

When i was around 10, i had been given the choice between practicing artistic or rythmic gymnastics, i went for artisic and now i'm starting to regret...Is it still possible to start rythmic gymnastics at the age of 15 ?

  • Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! :)

  • @coccinelsucrer Depends how hard you've trained really. :) RG puts more emphasis on a slim figure and flexibility. Notice there are no powerhouses like shawn johnson and alicia sacramone? I prefer AG myself. Although RG is equally as hard and equally as beautiful.

  • I used to be an AG and a lot of what you pointed out is correct. When I was younger I used to make fun of RG because I just thought it was a floor routine with a prop and minimal tumbling. Then I found videos of the training and conditioning for RG and I'm wishing I actually knew what RG really was when I was younger because I would've done it in a heart beat.

  • wow...gymnastics seems so hard but its beautiful to watch all of the amazing things these people can do. i wish my mom had put me in gymnastics when i was little...

  • Comment removed

  • when you said backflips, it's actually a back handspring b/c their hands touched the floor...great montage though! 5 stars!

  • i just noticed in the description box that this is ur club music, could you post it on youtube or send it to me pleasse ?? its mine too O_o

  • i did ag....and i thn i also did ballet at the same time. i wuld say both forms r equally hard because there are soem things in both that you cnt rly compare.

    great vid tho

  • Great but you forgot to say that as AG requires more strenght RG requires more flexibility and well also both requires great coordination =)

  • im pretty sure i did say the strength and flexibility thing...towards the end.

  • Comment removed

  • whats the song name ?

  • @therglover2009 maksim marvica-nostradamus

  • u know how in AG u stop growing early ?? does that apply to RG ?? and do you get short and stubby in RG like AG ??

  • yes, she was. in fact, nastia looks exactly like her. just search anna kotchneva to see what a great rhythmic gymnast her mom was.

  • i don't think so, but i could be wrong.

most of the people at my club are really tall, and it's suppose to be better for our leaps and it looks better in our technique in general.

  • thx !! ive been wanting to know that since i started RG about 1 and a half months ago ! thnx again !

  • @fashiondesigner552 I took a bio mechanics course at my university and my professor found 5 studies that showed that to much gymnastic training at a young age can slowdown the growth process, he removed his son from practicing it a while after and grew like 6 inches in 3 months or so. XD

  • o yea and no offense if u do ag... soryy!

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone else besides me want to see Nastia Liukin (Artistic Gymnast) compete in Rythmic Gymnastics? She's really graceful in her events, already. I'm just curious to see her doing rythmic gymnastics for once.

  • yes, i thought i was the only one! she would make a great rhythmic gymnast, plus its already in her blood because of her mom.

  • nastia luikins mom was in RG ??

  • i do the same thing it is awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i do artistic which i love!!! my favourite piece is bars and i dont really like floor and rhythimic has too much dance!!

  • rg and ag are awesome. beautiful in their different ways.

  • I like it ! i think the main thing about rhythmic is that its more about flexibility.

  • great comparison, great editing and great footage,

    overall= great!

  • yeah i do rhythmic 2 its really FUN i really like the vid though cuz every1 is like o u do gymnastics cool which event do u like best i like beem or something like that its REALLY ANOYING!!!!!!!!so thx 4 the vid lol

  • AG and RG are completley different, even tho they both have 'gymnastics' in them doesnt make them the same. they both require different skills and are equally hard in their own way :)

  • It;s a very pretty video. I'd love to learn RG cuz i'm learning AG now. I love both equally. I kno they are very different altogether but you can sound less biased by thinking of them as just Gymnastics. That's just my opinion, though.

  • i will never be that flexiable! ever lol! i will satrt gymnastics soon though!

  • which do you think is harder? i say Artistic simply because it takes more strength(and i am weak lol) and i think Rhythmic is harder in the beginning but becomes more enjoyable once your muscles get used to the stretching

  • i say rhythmic because im in it and its hard work catching the balls and such and when you throw it you roll then catch it so thats really hard ! i say there equally challenging

  • gymnastics is defenetly the best sport out there

  • ooooooh 0.o very good!

  • thanks for the montage, it is very good, weldone !

  • I really love this video! It really shows the difference between Rythmic and artistic gymnastics without being byast.

  • thank you! some people say it is biased, but i tried really hard to show the differences without any preference. to be honest, i love both, but my strength is most definitely rhythmic.

  • what gym do you go to?

  • i luv both put i prefer artistic gymnastic becuaese that wat i do but nice vud :]

  • I love both sport, but I like more AG.

    Good montage! Thanks

  • great video! to me rhythmic is way over the top, i much prefer artistic. it's such a beautiful sport.

  • great vid! but u forgort the most important difference.........the flexibility because rhythmic gymnastic are contortionist but artistics are just....a little flexible

  • Nice Video! I'd Love to see a video of you doing rg! ;D Great job with the vid! :) And You I could not be happier if you would make a video to show how to do all the tricks with the clubs!? ;D I don't know how to do!

  • thank you! you know what?-i would love to post myself from my competitions, but i have a few problems with that idea: i am a good gymnast, not an amazing one, so i don't want anyone saying i suck; im also concerned about my own internet safety.

also, you've given me something to think about for a video idea in the future. i might decide to make a clubs tutorial, but i would get my gymnastics friends to be the examples.

  • You shouldn't be concerned about your internet safety if the video is filmed a way where we can't see your face etc.

    - And if anybody are saying that you suck, you should just ignore it! If you think you're great then thats all you need......-Because there will always be someone who are making irritating comments and so on in this world! -And you can always delete the video in worst case...

  • And it would be wery nice if you could make a clubs toturial, cause I would realy like to learn it!

But it's all up to you!!

    :D

  • thanks for your comments! i was going to do the clubs tutorial last week during my gymnastics training but i totally forgot. so I will probably have to postpone the project for a while. :(

  • At first I couldnt tell which type of gymnastics you were showing in the video, but then it started getting easier.

    Great job on the video.

I really enjoyed watching these amazingly talented women.

  • Both sports are just AMAZING and very diffecult! But I think AG is more dangerous and risky because you can fall of the apparatus and hurt yourself very bad! And I like watching AG more because I do it myself, but RG is wonderful too...^^

  • I like watching rhythmic more, because it looks so much weirder. But both look EXTREMELY difficult! Good job!!

  • How do these people DO that?! lol

  • Beautiful montage!! *__*

I'm going to show this at all my friends! XD

  • wow thank you!

  • thnx!! ur really nice do u do gymnastics?

  • hi, yes I do, but I do rhythmic. I don't have the strength to do artistic, but I think it's awesome.

  • I really wanna see a video of you lol. I dont do either (im a horseback rider haha) but I think its the coolest thing ever...

  • i would post myself, but i'm conerned about my own internet safety.

i also think im a good gymnast, but not amazing. i don't want my confidence beat down by negative comments.

  • that makes sense. its too bad theres so many mean people in the world haha

  • ya loved it but u gave rythmic a LOT more credit :( its unfair

  • im sorry....it wasn't intentional

  • no she didn't. it was very even, or are u trying to say that rythmic gymnastics isn't worth anything or something...

  • amazing... good job

  • wooow 0:55 very veryy beautifull costume

  • looked like the girl at 3:11 was starting to fall off her foot a bit

  • great video!!!!lovely music and great exambles!!!!

  • ...Both are really hard sports. Ag girls and boys cannot do 5% of one RG routine. Rg girls cannot do 5% of one AG routine. So, please, NEVER try to compare their difficulty. Saying one is harder than other is all, sorry, crap.

And these video is AMAZING. It's perfect and doesn't show any opinion abou their difficulties, just show us the difference. Congratiolations.

BTW; This is the full music Filipa Siderova is using for her hoop; It's amazing.

  • Great job! ::claps:: :D I LOVE it. :D And I love both artistic and rhythmic for different reasons. :D They're both amazing sports. :D

  • Italy

  • love anya's 2004 and 2007/8 hoop routines! most beautiful hoop routines she ever had :D

  • also you made 7 points!:) not 6 in the video:

Great montage added to my favourites:

  • song plz?

  • luv 1:59 !!

  • i love aritistic gymnastics

  • I LOVE RHYTHMIC!!!!!!!

Not too sure about artistics...to manly..in my opinion

    Lovely routine:)

  • Artistics Gymnastics is the best! Rythmic gymnasts is a beauiful sport but they cant do aything that artistic gymnast can! like a twister, double layout, a standing full etc.....

  • i think you could say the same to artistic ppl about rhythmic. they can't do a lot of the things we can do. rhythmics is about flexibility AND the apparatus. YOU try doing 3 rolls under a hard piece of equipment.

  • Comment removed

  • or try as Godunko 4 rolls under a ribbon!

  • i do rhythmics and u neeed coordination to do it and artistic ive done for a while its easy once u get it
