I do hate early voting on the principle that campaign trends can fluctuate greatly day-do-day as the official Election Day nears. I also am annoyed that we bother with early voting when it would be easier to just open up a ton of polling centers on the same day and get everyone out on the same day. Early voting is a bureaucratic hassle in my opinion, and we should just make Election Day a state holiday along with many many more polling centers. I can understand Fred Barnes's view, as a Democrat.
Not everyone can vote on the same day. You should want to have as many people be able to vote as possible. One more thing- voting should be moved to a weekend, though I like your idea of a national holiday. Still, even if there was a national holiday for voting early voting needs to be allowed to encourage participation.

The reason people early vote is so they can avoid the lines. Some people would rather not take time off from work to vote, even though they have that right. This idea that people should be forced to wait for an October surprise is ridiculous.

Why don't we allow people in mental institutions and prisons vote. Why don't we allow people from other countries vote in our elections...

Why is Barnes against "early voting" when most Republicans passed these laws in their respective states. If he doesn't like it, he should yell at the Republican party in states like Ohio and Nevada. I do hate early voting on the principle that campaign trends can fluctuate greatly day-do-day as the official Election Day nears. I also am annoyed that we bother with early voting when it would be easier to just open up a ton of polling centers on the same day and get everyone out on the same day. Early voting is a bureaucratic hassle in my opinion, and we should just make Election Day a state holiday along with many many more polling centers. I can understand Fred Barnes's view, as a Democrat.

Not everyone can vote on the same day. You should want to have as many people be able to vote as possible. One more thing- voting should be moved to a weekend, though I like your idea of a national holiday. Still, even if there was a national holiday for voting early voting needs to be allowed to encourage participation.

FOX "News" is currently running a story entitled:"Odds of Winning Lottery, Deciding Election About the Same". Basically, it tries to convince voters that their vote is inconsequential and the odds of making a difference are that of winning the lottery. It seems to me Fox is almost encouraging voters not to vote. In particular new voters. Guess who new voters would most likely vote for? Barrack?
