  • how is Favre not 1, are you fucking kidding me this list is a joke

  • Ikr Rodgers is still new u need to wait a cupola years and see if he's still good an c'mon don't compare to farce or starr

  • Lol Aaron rogers is good but he's still no where near favre or star come on now.

  • lol cmon dude aaron rodgers is all ready the best qb to ever play the game..

my opinion the best player ever too.

  • @tpaffel You must have only watched 2010-2011 in which he was the best in the league but I'll just list every other quarterback who's better than Aaron: Brett (obviously), the Mannings, Brady, Brees, Steve Young, Aikman, Bradshaw, Montana, Starr, Dan Fouts, Boomer Esiason, Jon Elway, Joe Namath, even Ben Roethlisberger. Sir your claim was the stupidest thing I've heard since the last Democratic Primary Debate.

  • aaron rodgers was better

  • back to back 4000 yard seasons super bowl mvp no where near the interceptions take lynn dickey off this list and replace him with aaron rodgers dickey couldn't run he threw way too many interceptions won 1 playoff game and was basically a joke the only good memory of dickey was watching steve micmichael and the bears 46 defense pound him 2 games per year with favre starr or rodgers we beat the bears with dickey i wanted him to get pounded by the bears ya a packers fan said that

  • @sarkkinen23 The Packers had no D and on running game. The Mediocre Years of the early 80's were on the back of Dickey (when he wasn't on his own back due to the poor offensive lines). The clip points out, Dickey led the league in passing in 1983, and the Packers were 26 yards short of leading the league in total yardage. But they were 8-8. Why? DEAD LAST IN DEFENSE. The Packers are the only team in the NFL to have had FOUR 4,000 yard passers, Dickey being one of them. Great? No, but very good.

  • Great pick. Bart Starr is not only the greatest Packer QB, he is the greatest Packer ever. Starr is precursor to other excellent game managers such as Joe Montana and Tom Brady --- and it appears Mr. Aaron Rodgers. Those QB's didn't always put up gaudy numbers but they were winners and that is the ultimate measure of a QB.

  • A-Rodg has jumped Don Majikowski easily since you posted this video. His Super Bowl MVP probably gets him ahead of Tobin Rote. A case could even be made for him to beat out Lynn Dickey, though that might be jumping the gun. If he maintains the inhuman pace at which he has played his first 5 games of his 2011 season he'll not only top legends Brett Favre and Bart Starr for #1 on Green Bay's list, but will also reign as the #1 across the entire league's history.

  • Mr Starr is also a class act. One true gentleman! You'd say the same if you ever get the chance to meet him.

  • Obviously Aaron Rodgers just shot himself to at least 3 on this list.

  • DrDeath...you must be joking...

  • Favre was a system QB when he had success. The system is what stacked up his completion %, TD's, and yards. When Favre tossed the system aside, things went poorly, and that's where his high INT % comes from. Favre had a very short yards per attempt yet had a very high INT %. Holmgren tailored the O to limit Favre's bad side, and it worked. Favre got a high comp %, and the receivers got a lot of yards after catch that all went into Favre's stats. But when Favre needed to come thru, he failed.

  • Starring was great, but its a sin that fare isn't number 1

Starring has even said that favre is netters than himself

  • yess sir yes sir Bart starr baby #1! I have high hopes for aaron rodgers to make this list :)

  • thx for posting this!!!

  • Aaron Rodgers, welcome to the club.

  • I would say that right now Brett Favre is the best QB the Packers have ever had. I'm a huge Packer fan and love Aaron Rodgers. But Brett Favre is a Hall of Famer and a legend out on the football field. Sure I'm mad he didn't do too good his last couple seasons and went to the Vikings. I do believe that Brett Favre is better than Aaron Rodgers, but I would say Aaron Rodgers has A LOT of potential to match Brett and be better than him. GO PACK GO

  • i dont care what nobody says rodgers will never be better than farve im under 20 years old and i know that packers fans just mad cuz brett left and went to the vikes get over it.........yall push a side a hall of famer plus got all the QB records in NFL history beat brett is the best the best ever in the packers QB position NO DISS TO BART STAR but him and rodgers ant touch the farve.....but thats my opinion you guys can talk shit or yall opinions but thats mine.

  • @Thekingpac2014 While I agree with why packer fans were upset with Favre, I disagree about Rodgers never being better than him. I will consider Rodgers better the second he gives us one more Lombardi trohpy.

  • @crazedfan7589 thats fine but my opinion that favre is the best QB and see why you guys would put rodgers ahead of him as soon as wins another for you guys but will never its like the coach pushed favre out of town and he had no chance with the fans its just like montana and young all over again thats the point im trying to make with you guys that young will never be montana even though he was great with that left arm just like to me rodgers will never touch farves career maybe the rings though.

  • @Thekingpac2014 EXACTLY!

  • @crazedfan7589 and im not taking nothin from rodgers he played like a mothafuka in that superbowl but he wont last long like #4 just speakin tha truth.

  • Switch Favre and Starr and put Rodgers at number 5 instead of Majik

  • @WarEagle140 yeah true thats a hell of a list

  • where is Aaron Rodgers

  • favre over starr, rodgers over favre

  • @WISCONSINWOODSHUNTER favre over starr is correct. rodgers over favre is a joke. what has rodgers done? so what, he won a super bowl, so did matt hasselback and brad johnson but that doesnt mean they are great. Favre was a great qb, rodgers hasn't proven himself enough to be considered anything over the word good. Great is over used in sports today, everyone is "great" but in reality, they aren't. Who knows, Rodgers could have a career ending injury next season and never play again.

  • @WISCONSINWOODSHUNTER and if that happened, he wouldn't be considered great, he would be considered good w/ potential, just like Bo Jackson. It happens all the time so before you go saying a QB whose played 3 starting seasons is better than Brett Favre (we all know the great things he did on the field, don't deny it) you should think twice. A lot of Packer fans (I'm a Packer fan too) are on an emotional high of the SB win and say Rodgers is the best QB we've ever had when everyone knows he isnt.

  • @WarEagle140 True they overrate Arod too much cuz he won the SB like you said what if he get hurt and never plays again its just what if then what will they do talking about his fans im a packer fan i became one in 98 when i was a Cowboys and Saints fan and a little love and respect for the Niners but Rodgers can will never ever be Brett and never beat his records he set in the NFL if he do which i know he wont but if he does the lions will win over 12 gms the Bears would become a dynasty again

  • @WISCONSINWOODSHUNTER HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh thats funny

  • Yo rodgers im happy for you and imma let you finish. But Brett Favre was one of the greatest qbs of all time. Of all TIME!

  • Does anyone else think if Dickey or Majkowski in their prime could have, or would have, done something special with the '96 team? In other words, Favre didn't have much to do with improved defense and running backs. Give Dickey or Majkowski a D led by Shermer with White and Butler and Dotson and Jones and some of those linebackers, and give him Dorsey Levens and Edgar Bennett and a very good offensive line and Holmgren's playbook and I think they would have had a great shot too.

  • @toolkien thats what i was thinking, if majkowski wouldnt be injured who knows how manny super bowls the packers might of had

  • Aaron Rodgers is the modern version of Bart Starr, ...watch Aaron shred bretts career stats and win 5 super bowls...just saying....stranger things have happened., like no 2011 season?

  • You can beat our Pack but you can't lick our Dickey

  • Brent Favre also broke the record for most retirements, and pending front office approval, smallest penis.

  • Majik Man's Injury was caused by a brutal illegal tackle according to today's standard...just saying....also i was born in GB in 71, i lived over 20 years of my early life before i saw i winning season...but now we rock and i inherited season tickets...i love karma

  • As somebody who bleeds Green & Gold, I'm glad to see that you didn't commit the fashionable atrocity of ranking #4 over #15. Lynn Dickey couldn't get #12 retired, let's see if A-rod can.

list of top 5 Bears QB's:

    1) Sid Luckman

    2) Sid Luckman

    3) Sid Luckman

    4) Jim McMahon

    5) uh... never mind.

  • shit dude. buy a pop filter

  • Trust me if Aaron Rodgers had started for the Packers between 1992-2007 like Favre did Arod would have won a helluva lot more than just one Super Bowl.

  • Thats rediculous! Favre will be #1 for ever

  • @tanman152023 Actually if Rodgers keeps it up he will be better then Favre in 5 years

  • Dickey was exciting, but he did throw too many INT's. He was in a period where QB's across the board threw more, but even in that period he was off the chart. But to be fair, the O-lines were poor.

All I can remember during the "high point" of early 80's mediocrity was one of three things would happen within 5 plays - a punt, a pick, or a TD. Either way it put a poor defense out on the field to get gassed every game and, if was a TD, give the points right back within two minutes.

  • Aaron Rodgers is now #2.

  • One name that warrants serious consideration for honorable mention status: the unflappable Doug Pederson. His 100.7 1998 Passer Rating speaks for itself.

  • top 5 running back coming soon?

  • starr far better then brett

  • Oops I wasn't finished with my thought.... For the record I think Rodgers has a chance to be the best Packer QB. He's got the arm and he makes better decisions than Favre. You can call it unproven arrogance but to us Packer fans it's swagger and we love it. Just one more win and that championship belt move won't be just cockiness it will be truth.

  • Bart Starr as number one is totally true, I love Favre as a Packer but in crunch time he was just as likely to throw a pick as likely as a touchdown. Starr was just straight up a champion, but having said that I would rather loose with Favre than win with Starr, Favre just has your heart the excitment the fear, you just can't get enough.

  • By the time Aaron Rodgers retires he will make this list. As a matter of fact he will probobly have LESS career interceptions than Favre.

  • As a life-long Green Bay Packers fan, I understand why people have animosity towards Favre. But putting him at #2?! Please, he is far and away the most influential Packer and best quarterback we have EVER seen.

  • A lot of people are probably too young to remember Majik, if they ever saw him at all. But, when healthy, he was one of the league's premier QB's. His 1989 season was the stuff of legend. Four games won by 1 point, 7 game-winning drives and numerous heart-stopping moments. He may not have been their best QB ever, but Don Majkowski remains my favorite.

  • @DrDeath26 Couldn't agree more.

  • As much as I hated him in purple, I gotta put Favre at number 1. He resurrected a dead franchise. But I will admit his playoff mistakes give Starr an edge. I'm just glad we've had such great quarterbacks throughout our history and it continues to this day.

  • @RDarth Hopefully Aaron Rodgers will continue that great Packers history of QB's. I'm not a Packer fan. I'm from the Bay Area & a Cal bears fan. Followed Rodgers in his Cal Days. Good luck in th the Super Bowl. Actually I will be rooting for the Packers because of Aaron.

  • Favre, Starr, Rodgers, then the other guys. Sorry rodger fan-boys but he still has no ring.

  • #1 Starr #2 Rodgers #3 Favre #4 Dickey #5 Tied between about 10 players

  • 1. rodgers 2. rodgers 3. rodgers 4. rodgers 5. rodgers

  • i swear to god rodgers will win the super bowl , he could have the most passing yard as a packer, he is just 30-40 yards off and he has 4min left to play

  • Lynn Dickey is my 3rd cousin!!!

  • rodgers will be on this list very soon

  • @metalmaniac1993 I agree. He's young and hopefully we've only begun to see his talent.

  • highest rated comments:

    starr>favre

    favre>starr

    both +5

  • Bart Starr- Best. Packer. Ever.

  • @beatlequeen06 Over Kramer?

  • @ilovejourney1 Kramer was great, don't get me wrong, but Starr has so much charisma. Every time they announce Packer alums at games, he gets the loudest and longest applause.

  • This list is bs, Brett is 10 times the passer of Starr. Starr had Lombardi in his prime, and Favre was stuck with Mike frickin Sherman...end of story

  • @joshuarayborn There's more to being a QB than passing. Starr won championships and helmed the best Packer team ever in 1962. Favre won one Super Bowl but wasn't the MVP of it. Favre was a great QB. But as the video said he couldn't come through in the clutch. It took him so long to get with the program, almost benched in '94, killed the Pack in '95 with a pick. Then he finally got it. But the "second half" of his career was riddled with INT's that killed his team. '09 was Minnesota's turn.

  • @toolkien Starr also did not have Mike Sherman as his coach during his prime. The 4th and 27 team should have won the super bowl

  • @joshuarayborn the 4th and 26 game could also be named "Brett's terrible last drive playoff INT part 1 of 3)

Reguardless of the 4th and 26 earlier that allowed score to tie the game - Favre still had the ball in OT with a chance to drive for the winning score and blew it.

  • I TOTALLY agree with this list, from 1-5. Good to see Majik and Dickey again! Favre was great, but Starr was CLUTCH. A great and modest leader among great players. Favre absolutely choked in the post-season from 2002-2007. But he was money in the late 90s.

  • lynn dickey was a great qb in his time.Very underated

  • Aaron Rodgers is number 1!!

  • i drank at a bar with lynn dickry that guy is awesome

  • I really like this list... my only difference is that I would still sneak Arnie Herber in there (he was essentially the first modern QB)

    1) Bart Starr

    2) Brett Favre

    3) Lynn Dickey

    4) Arnie Herber

    5) Tobin Rote

    6) Aaron Rodgers

    7) Don Majkowski

(the funny thing is that outside of Sid Luckman, all 7 of these QBs were arguably better than any Bear QB ever)

  • is 1:00 the instant replay game?

  • I can't even think of 5 Packers QB's. Starr, Favre, Rodgers....uh...Majkowski? Really?

  • rodgers will be on that list just give it time.

  • @JMajik24 ... Shouldn't be too difficult. Majkowski's on the list, for God's sake.

  • I can't wait until Rodgers is at #1, which would knock Majkowski off the list (personally, I'd have gone with Zeke Bratkowski) and sandwich Saint Brett in the middle.

  • Starr was much better in the clutch than Favre. Starr would never throw 6 ints. in a playoff game like Favre did against the Rams. Also Starr would never text lewd photos of himself to a girl half his age either.

  • @bax323 ... Starr wouldn't survive one game in today's NFL.

  • If Favre had had Lombardi as his coach, he might have won more championships and had less bone-headed plays. That, or he would have been sent packing within his first year. As it is, Favre continues to make rookie mistakes and bone-headed interceptions well into his 19th year in the league.

  • @PackerBronco ... Actually, it's his 20th season, and no, he doesn't make rookie mistakes. Most of his interceptions this season were the result of receivers running the incorrect route or falling down. Add to that the fact that he's been playing on a broken ankle. He's still playing better than 90% of the quarterbacks in the NFL. At his age, that's no fluke.

  • Starr is #1, and Majik was a one year wonder.

  • I saw them both play. Favre had better physical skills, but Starr was by far the better leader and field general. Starr quarterbacked 5 championship teams and he is the best Green Bay quarterback to date.

  • i can agree with Bart Starr. The only thing I can say for Favre is that if we didn't have him since 92 we could have been one of the worst nfl teams in the for a stretch of 17 years. God knows how it would have turned out if we didn't have favre. He gave us a lot. But unlike Favre, Starr always came through (on the field, not so much as a coach lol).

  • I'm not thrilled with Favre's schenanigans but I gotta put him at number one even though I've never seen Bart Starr play. Favre is a living legend. Starr was a hero. As the saying goes, "Heroes will be remembered, but legends never die"

  • @lois9048 also if erin ever wins a playoff game there is a chance he can make this list

  • Very good piece. You have done an excellent job of documenting why Bart Starr is the greatest Packer quarterback ever. Bart was the greatest big game quarterback there has ever been. Greatness is measured by how you perform under pressure and no one was better than Bart. The last drive of the Ice Bowl exemplified what Bart was all about. Unlike Favre who has thrown interceptions when its matter most, Bart could be counted on. I've had the pleasure to know Bart Starr and he is nothing but class.

  • I'm a die hard Packers fan. But am so ashamed of myself, that I have never heard of the other 3 guys.

  • Liten to what the man said and you'll know why he choose Starr over Favre

  • Aaron will be #1 mark my words!

  • Man that playoff game vs the Eagles really pissed me off, it's kind of annoying that you put that in the video hinting that Favre was to blame for that game, if it wasn't for the defense blowing 4th and 26, the Pack would have advanced. Don't blame Favre, blame Ed Donatell.

There is no doubt that Favre was the best QB in GB history.

  • On the other hand, when Favre threw that pick against the Eagles and when he threw that pick against the Giants and when he threw that pick against the Saints, the common refrain was: "%&@# I KNEW he would do that." That tells you something. It was no fluke. It was Favre being Favre. So, yeah, if you got a guy with great stats but a tendency to do stupid things at the worst possible time, I'd say that's cause for doubt.

  • I agree with this list 100%. If it was all about stats, Favre is #1 hands down. But championships and how a qb plays in the clutch are more important and thats what hurt Favre.

  • we should have got to the superbowl in 2007, it was an amazing year

  • No rational person with an unbias opinion can put Starr ahead of Favre.

Starr was 17-34 before and after Lombardi, and had 8 HOF teammates. He wasn't even the center point of Lombardi's run-oriented offenses.

Favre played under 4 different coaches, only had 1 losing season, and played with 1 HOFer. Oh, and he's NFL's all time leader in every significant passing category.

  • Starr over Favre? WTF are you snorting!!!

  • rodgers will be on that list i swear

  • just wait..... aaron rodgers will be #1 !!!!! go pack go

  • What i thought there was only Bart Satrr, and Brett Farve.. lol

  • Favre > Starr.

If only Favre had as many HOF's as Starr.

  • I find it interesting that Favre fans will argue for Favre over Starr by comparing passing statistics and yet when you compare Favre and Rodgers, then statistics are suddenly meaningless to those fans and it's all about the wins.

  • @PackerBronco Both stats and wins are overwhelmingly in favor of Favre so actually both arguments work.

  • Are you saying that Favre has it over Starr in terms of wins? Yes, if you go by the raw count, but c'mon. Five championships are the wins that count. Favre was an epic choke artist in the second half of his career.

  • Elway had great numbers..how is over 50000 passing yards not great. Hes a hall of famer, and star was good because of the people around him, just like brady and bradshaw!

  • Majik was a big story hrer, because he was from nearby DePew New York.

As a Bucs Fan, I always had respect for Dickey, and happy to see him on this list.

FYI, Dickey's bckup was David Whitehurst, father of current Seahawks QB Charlie Whitehurst

  • Favre is over Starr.

    Starr: 57.4% Completion 152 TD's 138 INTS 80.5 Passer Rating

    Favre: 62.0% Completion 497 TD's 317 INTS 86.6 Passer Rating

And if you say he has 300 INTS your stupid... His TD to INT is better than Starr's TD to INT

  • It's difficult to compare stats from one era to another when the current rules are so conducive to the passing game. In Starr's era there were a lot more things the DB's could do to disrupt patterns and the passing game. However there is one stat that's always good: 5 championships to 1.

  • @PackerBronco

Championships are a good case, but not the only. I see too many people say that one QB isn't as good as the other because of the lack of rings.

Favre throwing those pics in the playoffs were bad, but if the teams defense was good then one INT wouldn't have been so bad. There are lots of things to consider. But i put Favre over Starr, even in this last pitiful year he is having.

  • @soadpwnsyou You're right. A defense should be able to withstand the 6 INT's in 2001 playoff game. Or the two INT's and a fumble by their QB in 2002 playoffs. Or the horrible pick in 2003. Or the 4 INT's in 2004.

Topped off with a backbreaker in 2007 and another in 2009 (thank god for Vikings).

Favre was great when he had Holmgren and/or there was no pressure. Turn up the heat and he would collapse. He had great abilities but no work ethic to go beyond them. He couldn't handle the elite.

  • @toolkien you are 100% correct, he helped win 1 Super Bowl with help from the #1DF and #1Special Teams.Since 2000 Brett has been the biggest playoff choker in NFL history. His last pass in 2 TIED NFC Championship games were TERRIBLE ints, his last pass in a tied OT game vs PHI was a terrible pick. That is 3 games his poor choice lead to his teams season ending on his teams last and most important drive.

  • Aaron Rodgers will be on this list in a few years!

  • Everyone hats favre for being a Viking, but..he lead you packer fans to your first champ. In 29 years! You had 1 playoff win after Starr and before Favre..that's a long time! He was a gunsliner, he will make his

Mistakes, he's no John Elway..elways was alot more talented then favre!!

  • @fuel1985

Elway was not better than Favre. His statistic are not even great, he had a solid team that took him to the Super Bowls. Yes he was good but not better than Starr or Favre.

  • Top 5 Playmakers? maybe idc anything wihtthe Pack in it is gonna be good. That was informative and Entertaining keep it up

    GO PACKERS

  • WOW!!! Bart Over Brett!!? That's some serious Bull, you can't even compare the two! If you ask anyone who the top 5 QB's in the History of the game are, you might get Favre in there in someone's top 5....but you will never get Bart! Stupid analysis!!!!

  • He's basing it off of how they handled overall as a clutch player, not just by records. Bart with out a doubt was the most reliable QB in Packer history

  • The Super Bowl 32 was lost because Packers had no Defense and they could not stop the run and when it came to the final play the receivers kept dropping the ball. Maybe they wanted to give the old man (Jon Elway at the time) his ring so he can finally retire. My personal opinion: You make it to the Superbowl 3 times and lose all of them, you're not that great Elway. Know your facts Favre Haters!

  • didnt elway win 2 wuperbowl?

  • that may be true but it all rests on the QB's head especially when u do throw the pick to a linebacker in a superbowl... or have a terrible 22? interceptions in the playoffs... or have the record of 6 interceptions against a team in the playoffs

  • soon to be aaron rodger as at least # 2

  • Excellent analysis. I totally agree with your reason for why Favre is not #1. Starr seemed to do no wrong in he playoffs. Favre? Well...let's just say I lost my temper watching him play more than a handful times in the playoffs. That said, I don't think Starr would be able to be a "Starr" in today's game, so I would draft Favre over Starr. But, when we compare how Starr performed in his era to Favre, you got to go with the Alabamaia rather than the Mississippian.

  • Wow. The Snow Bowl December 1, 1985. We got 18 inches of snow that day. Sold out game but only 20K showed up. I was one of them. Great game. Dickey and the Packers rocked 21-0! Alka Seltzer made a Cold Plus Medicine commercial about it. I didn't remember it was Dickeys last game. Wish he could have played on some of our recent teams that have had defense. He would have won it all.

  • so favre goes to another team and now he is number two on the alltime packer list ? LMAO. This is classic packer bullshit. how can you compare Fart star of the fucking 50"s & 70's to Brett Favre of the 90's? you cant do it.

  • Excellent analysis. There is a lot more to being a great QB than statistics. Bart Starr was the greatest leader I ever saw. He was clutch and never made the bone head plays that Favre made. He is also a "class" individual which is a lot more than can be said about Favre.

  • this is to AgentSmithClan, u said exactly what i was thinking...its good to know someone else can look outside the box and actually think some logic!!!

  • Right now I put Starr on top of this list because Starr had something Favre apparently lacked when he went to the Vikings which is class and respect.

  • and Starr still has class and respect.

  • Starr was a much better player in big games. Much Much better than Favre was or will be.

  • @huss171 How does playing for the Vikings (the team that badly wanted him as the final piece of a championship caliber roster) mean he lacks class & respect? I could argue that trading your franchise's best player to a team & city (NY) with which he's completely unfamiliar is classless. They could've traded him to Tampa.

  • @huss171 ... I doubt the Packers treated Starr with the same disrespect as they did Favre. At least Minnesota appreciates what he does for them.

  • @emantabrizi I know right... how DARE the Packers disrespect Saint Brett by holding him to his word!!! He made things as difficult as possible for Aaron Rodgers who handled the entire situation with class... something you Brettophiles wouldn't know anything about! But you go right on ahead and keep drinking John Madden's kool-aid, buddy!

  • @NikDev5000 ... WTF are you talking about? How did Brett make things difficult for Rodgers?

  • @NikDev5000 ... WTF are you talking about? How did Brett make things difficult for Rodgers?

  • @emantabrizi Instead of moving aside gracefully after he told the Packers he was retiring knowing it would be hard enough on anyone to follow his reign as QB, he created a controversy and media circus on top of everything for no reason than his own ego and self-centeredness and had half the Packers "fans" wanting him (Rodgers) to fail. Now all those rednecks who bought Jets (then Vikings jerseys) wanna act like they had A-Rodg's back the whole time... fairweather chumps!

  • @emantabrizi how much did they apreciate that interception at the NFC championship game?

  • @JMajik24 ... Probably as much as they appreciated the five fumbles by the rest of the team in the second half that resulted in 14 points for the Saints.

  • that bull favre is way better than starr wow favre is tough

  • Starr 5 titles Favre just 1, argument over drive home safely. Its how you perform in the playoffs that counts. With the exception of 1996 Favre is the biggest playoff choker in NFL history. Sure he has all the career yardage records etc etc....So what he's been playing since the Nixon Administration.

  • you mean lombardi, 5 titles not starr....that team was ridiculous. what are you talking about Starr.....when half of that team is in the hall of fame, its easy to win championships...

  • @WissMongler That team was 1-10-1 before Lombardi showed up. The only reason any of those guys made the Hall of Fame is Lombardi's coaching. Starr was an extension of Lombardi's thought process on the field which is why he's better than Favre. Had Holmgren not left the Packers, Favre would like be ahead of Starr since he and Holmgren had an understanding similar to that of Starr and Lombardi.

  • Favre should defiantly be over Starr. Like you said he is the only person ever to win the MVP award 3 years in a row. Plus he owns most touchdowns of all time, all time passing yards and all time wins.

  • @packers131 Stats don't mean anything he just played for a long time.

  • @packers131 Not to mention, Interceptions

  • @packers131 starr won more championships and thats what matters plus favres a traitor

  • Comparing players from the 60's and the 90's just isn't possible for alot of reasons. If Starr of the 60's were transported to the present and played today would he be considered as good as Favre in any way? Absolutely not (even by looking at highlights of both that can be seen, plus Favre has much better stats in general). BUT you can only judge a player by what he can accomplish in his time and in his situation.

Idk, the only thing I can say with certainty is that both are top 15 all-time.

  • Favre blew Super Bowl 32 and wouldn't have won Super Bowl 31 without Howard.. huh? Favre completely outplayed Elway in Super Bowl 32, and had Howard not had a great game Favre would have just thrown more TDs and been the Super Bowl MVP. Favre has thrown away some games yes, but only in the second half of his career.

Starr played on teams that were clearly superior to most of the opposition, Favre didnt have that and he still made some teams that were bad with horrible head coaches look decent

  • @AgentSmithClan are u fuckin kidding me, Favre was on some pretty damn goog if not great teams, remember the grave digger, des howard, antonio, reggie(HOF!!!) Leroy Butler. i agree favre was great to but you cant solely thank him, as soon as holmgren left. the pack went to shit for 2 years with ole number 4

  • Who the heck said Favre blew SB 32? That was an amazing SB, but it wasn't Favre's fault they lost. Denver were a better team, and Packers defense wasn't all that great.

  • starr should be 1 like he is, dosent matter how many yards you throw or tds you throw if you dont win the championship, which starr won countless championships. Favre blew two chances to go to the super bowl, against the eagles and giants, and he was also part of the reason we lost super bowl 32. If not for desmond howard we probably wouldnt have won super bowl 31. And if rodgers gets a oline watch out, he could take of the number 2 spot.

  • Favre should be #1.

  • Rodgers will end up being #3, maaaaaaybe #2 if he ever wins a superbowl.

  • Favre is first, Starr is second-but most consistent(very boring), Dickey had thee best pass-spirel!

  • It's a good list, and like a lot of people I am going to say I disagree and put Favre number 1. Yes Bart was more consistent and careful, but look at the era he played in. The era he played in is weak compared to Favre's era. Favre played more competitive teams and while he didn't win all the time, he still put up the most memorable moments for Packers fans.

  • Brett is better than Bart.

  • My uncle was named after Starrs first name :D

  • That was a awesome video. But i dont think Rodgers shouldnt be in there. Hes only a second year starter and hasnt proven to be in the top 5 best packers QB's. I think theres no way u can say he should be in the top 5.

  • i think rogers should be in there

but any way that was a really good vid

  • Not a problem. My opinion doesnt have to be right it's just what I think with some stats as to why i think so. I'm just happy to see enthusiasm for Packers football.

I agree Starr had some better teams, but part of the reason their teams do to play in championship games is because he was careful with the football and rarely made his great defense handle a short field to defend.

And 4th and 26 is certainly a screw up by the defense, but if you remember they had McNabb on the run all day...

  • ...and the offense only put up three points after the 1st quarter (it should have been ten. If I live to be 1000 I will never understand why Sherman had guards pulling on 4th and Goal inside the one with one of the best short yardage runners perhaps even in Ahman Green)

  • On last thing about Starr, people act like he was just along for the ride. In his final 5 playoff games ('66 Title, SB I, '67 Division, '67 Title, SB 2) he threw for 1169 yards, a 64.7 completion percentage, 10 TDs and only 2 picks

And in the game when his D played the worst and gave up 27 points on the road in Dallas in the '66 title game, Starr went 19 of 28 for 304 yards 4 TDs (each to a different receiver) and no INTs. They won 34-27 of course.

  • Thanks again for the comments. I'm not picking a fight either just providing some counter point.

  • ive touched Barts old jersey. i gotta say those 2 are interchangable at #1

  • The 07 NFC championship, yes Favre threw a pick in OT. But what got the pack to OT, well perhapse it was the fact that Ryan Grant posted something like only 20 rushing yards and the defense gave up something like 400 yards of offense to the Giants. So again if everyone else hadn't played bad the Pack never would have gone to OT.

Just my 2 cents, and again I'm not saying Favre was a great post season performer or that he had bad teams I just think if he had Starr's team he would have won more.

  • Now as far as Favre's poor post season performances, I'm not going to pretend Favre hasn't made some bad choices in the post season but lets go back and look at those games. 03 Division playoff vs Philly, yes Favre threw a bad pass to end the game in overtime but what got them into overtime? It was the defense giving up a huge 4th and 26 play to the Eagles which helped them tie the game. If the defense had done their job the Pack never would have gone to OT.

  • O.k. I like your vids and you know your stuff! But allow me to say something on the Favre vs Starr issue. Starr was great but I still say he had much better teams then Favre. Now of cource Favre had great players on his teams that will probably not get in the hall (Butler, Sharpe, Green, Driver, Clifton, and so on) but Starr still had a much better team and he also played with great players who did not make it into the hall (Jerry Kramer anyone)?
