  • i am buying this for sure now! thanks for the review. its something that i need, nothing big, useful!

  • The A1 on this video is rooted? What does it mean root@ubuntool#13 in Kernel version?

  • @srsettembrini No its not rooted, I don't know why the kernal says that. There is a root available, but I doubt I will use it. I have many more devices I am rooting and using these days. I gave this to my kid and she just uses to play games.

  • Man you really wanted that artwork.

  • @laxer2810 lol.

  • Hi, I have a question.

I noticed that in this video you mainly have the Tablet in portrait, and only switch to landscape with videos.

So my question is, can this be using in landscape while browsing the web and for general use?

  • @GadgetGirlKylie Yes. When browsing the web you can hold it however you want. The only problem is those buttons get in the way sometimes and I accidentally close pages while I am reading.

  • @TechFeenz This Would be my first Tablet if i actually get it, (its either this or the Kindle Fire) and i wanted to knw which app would i use to get books on it cuz i read alot, forgive me of my noobness, im a techie but its just tht i've neva had\used a tablet for a longer time than 40 secs (lol) so I'd rea;;y appreciate it if u'd HELP ME!! xD

  • Im getting one soon!

  • good stuff

  • Thanks for the review. This review solidified the fact that this tablet is not for me.

    You just saved me 200.

    Maybe I expect too much.

  • @e4300 glad I could help.

  • Nice review bro

  • Very nice review. Can I use flash drive for data travel with this device? Secondly, I have a usb internet. Is there a way to connect it with the tablet? Thanks.

  • my mind is set/....was deciding between fire and this......goin to the mall tomorrow wish me luck

  • i kind of like the kindle.lol if u have prime service, which i buy a lot of knives and stuff so i like free shipping, it is an added bonus. i have netflix too. the only thing i wish was hdmi out and an sd card for more storage of the net. that way i could take more converted dvd rips with me and also rent blu rays and new rentals online and output them to tv. but overall its nice for 200. i'll get an ipad 3 or something later on for more stuff

  • Thanks black guy!

  • Trying to get 2 today. Please respond ASAP.

Did you use Skype on this? If so , how is the Microphone ? I returned an Acer Iconia for its horrible microphone.

    Thanks

  • @8DomoloN8 Amazons app store is not nearly as helpful as the Google market. I only use it for the free app a day. In the end I felt this was the most bang for the buck because its capable of video calling and the non cloud based storage. I have my own cloud I don't need to pay amazon for this service. The Lenovo is pretty close to just a raw Google experience the others are refined to fit their respective services.

  • @8DomoloN8 There are not to many tabs under 200 bucks the Kindle fire, this one and the nook tab. They all have their pros and cons, but for me the market is a must. If you do not want to root the device this is your best bet. Tabs at this price are still new and to this point these 3 are the most powerful. The Kindle Fire probably is the most powerful, but you loose basics like cameras and sd card slot and the most important feature the google market.

  • Thanks for the video. I am looking for a couple of inexpensive tablets for my elementary age kids. Since these run full Android apps market and handle Netflix, this looks like a win for $200.

  • I really appreciate this. Thorough review. I was thinking of getting my Mom a 7 inch tab for Christmas. Was looking at this verses Nook Tablet. Although Nook tab is a stripped down version of Android, the Nook looks to be more responsive than the Lenovo.

  • 16gb is 249 in lenovo website, how you get it for 200. @TechFeenz

  • @cronosxxx Last week they ran a sale on the Lenovo website where you had to enter thier web code to get the 199 price for the 16gb model. If you have to settle for the 2gb it at least still has the micro sd card slot.

  • @cronosxxx you can probably still google Ideapad A1 for 199 and still find some of the deals. I saw it at a few places for that price online, but I decided to go str8 to the source because of the free shipping they offered. Amazon had it at 199 also good luck.

  • @cronosxxx best buy.com you have to backorder

  • Good review bro Im trying to decide between this and the fire for my daughter. She mainly wants a reader but then she fell in love with the fire. I think this is a better deal. How is the video playback and web browsing?

  • From the looks of it the A1 seems pretty darn unresponsive, how good is it compared to the galaxy tab(original)?

  • I don't think it is too bad. Like I said my only complaint is the placement of the buttons. I always hit the back button on accident. I dont expect it to be as responsive as my Gs2 or transformer, but as a low end tab with last years top specs it is pretty good IMHO.

  • @TechFeenz My understanding is that there is only 2GB set aside for apps, while the other 14GB can only be used for pictures, video, music, etc. If this is true (is it?) then this is kind of a drag. However, I read in a forum that if you add a micro SD card then you can add, or at least move, apps to the card. Any truth to this?

  • @GrandmasterBBC I can't say for sure, because I have not installed that many apps. I have experienced an app limit before with android on other devices. If you fill up that space on this device I can guarantee you will experiece slow downs, but 2gb is a lot of apps. If you install games that require storing extra data make sure you have an sd card.

  • @TechFeenz Can anyone verify if apps can be moved to the micro SD card?

  • is there any way to put a lock on the tablet? or some type of code so people can't get in...?

  • @joedog123456 Yea there is a locking mechanism. You can either do a connect the dots type input or a numerical input. Either way you can lock it I usually do the connect the dots input.

  • @TechFeenz thank you dude! you're like the only person on youtube with a reliable video about the tablet i want. can you do a camera test? that would be awesome and very helpful to me . happy thanksgiving!

  • Sure thing bud and same to you. I will do a video shot when the sun comes back up.
