Why should KMT apologize at all for this? The Taiwanese deserved this, and more. In WW2, the Taiwanese pledged allegiance to Japan and emperor Hirohito. They considered themselves Japanese. the so called victims of 228 Massacre, were acutely with armed at the time of the incident. They were Taiwanese communists. Before the government's military force arrived, the communists already killed thousands of people on the whole island of Taiwan,including women and children, who were from the mainland and worked in the new government positions.

Do you not know what happened between 1947-1990s? The demonstrations and rallies never stopped. Taiwanese people were only able to vote in 1996. From 1947-1996 Taiwan was no different than China. We did not have the right to vote! KMT can stop pretending democracy is a gift from them. It's not.

Please. 850 pp is not a lot compare to the amount of communists that were executed in mainland China by the KMT. There is also a handful of communists in Taiwan also including Lee Teng-Hui, who was pardoned.
