God damn I can barely find any shit from Worship Music on youtube with all this copyright bullshit. So based on the preview I got from this video it unds killer. I'll possibly buy it one day.
I'm Alive i think it's the best song here! I really enjoy this song! Sounds really classical and the guitar solos are really cool! You are awesome as always Anthrax! \m/
Nice to finally have something hard and original and new to listen to,was hoping to have metallica come through in this department............................................
So when did Anthrax acquire the pentagram as part of their logo? They never were a satanic band. OR maybe it's just a couple of A's together, to resemble a pentagram? Hmmm...
@purseonal2010 Yeah I think I actually read that somewhere. Anthrax got accused of being Satanists or whatever, but they said they are just letter A's for Anthrax...
@xenorocker73 I know way back in the early 2000's, when the S.O.D. album "Bigger than the Devil" came out, Scott was wearing a pentgram t-shirt, and i was puzzled by that. Now i know, it's just a couple A's put together.
@xenorocker73 When the big four played Bulgaria, a Jewish publication did an interview with Dan, who, of course, is Jewish. He looked quite different with short-ass hair!
If you're hoping to hear Among The Living II, this isn't it. That was 25 years ago, get over it. This new 'thrax record is great and heavy. I haven't bought new music of any band in years. I bought this one. So glad Joey is back. Charlie is a fucking monster! Rock On!
The truth is that the songs seem to have been made to the voice of John Bush. Anthrax with Belladonna in the 80's was much more aggressive. But it's still a great job.
@MetalHeart8787 eventhough it's not a remarkable album, you have to consider that for beeing a band from the 80's it's not that lame, bands sucks nowadays, at least is not that shity as other thrash bands that still want to record albums and fails...
@thememoryremains100 ........ What is wrong with you?!? this sounds awesome!!! Oh and by the way, We both have our youtube accounts named after metallica songs
I Would argue that anthrax is currently at the top of their game..... this is fuckin amazing..... Id normally download music but this im buying....just awesome
On the back cover of the (very crappy cardboard) CD case (which ripped on the second day) they leave out Hymn 1 and Hymn 2 so it looks like there are only 11 tracks. So when your CD player says your on a certain track it's not going to match up with what the back cover of the CD case says. Not a big deal, but annoying. And my copy does not have "new noise"...WTF

Bought the album the day it came out, simply amazing, best since Among The Living imo. I'm Alive has sort of a Black Sabbath nature to it idk, think Children of the Grave...and Revolution Screams is just epic...this would sound nowhere near as good if Nelson was singing it. Suites Joeys voice perfectly if you ask me. Anthrax have aged pretty well.
Got the album and have to say it's a let down. "Fight em" and "the devil" gave hints of the old Anthrax sound but the rest of the album just sounds like "the sound of white noise" with Belladonna instead of Bush. And Charlie's drum skills and double bass......no where to be found on this album. There's a little of Scott's classic Anthrax crunchy rhythms but then it just breaks into some lame foo-fighter sounding chourus.
i just got this album, it wasnt as thrashy as i expected, but keep in mind they wrote a majority of this album with dan nelson, joey just sang it. earth on hell is the best song thats got some crazy drum work. lets hope thier next album is more thrashy which i bet it will be with belladona there instead of that faggot dan nelson.
The big four (except Slayer) should have stopped playing in 1995... They will never be as great as in the 80's early 90's. I blame grunge and hip-hop, btw.
I mean, this album sounds heavy. But you can hear they tried to hard.
Ah well, time to put Spreading the disease back on, those old records are still there for us :-) /m/
@Gnarkill2k6 Megadeth would have deserved to come back afterwards, Endgame proved Dave still has some thrash in him imo. I don't really like TH1RT3EN so far though
@cocornejo95 Spreading the Disease (1985) and Sound of White Noise (1993) are two prime must-have albums by Anthrax. Two different singers but both classics for their time.
I loved Fight 'Em Till You Can't, but this is all a bit of a letdown somehow. I don't like the production and there's a lot of bland stuff here :( Still, until I've heard the whole thing I won't dismiss it.
at first when i heard the album i thought i was a little disappointed but after hearing it a few times i realize its actually really awesome. the only complain i have is that on the CD case and when i put it on my computer they didnt have "Hymn 1" and "Hymn 2" listed... so then half the songs were titled wrong and there were 2 untitled bonus tracks at the end.... epic fail for whoever's idea that was...
Same here. I wasn't impressed with it at first, but after listening a few times it is really good. Whoever did the track listening on the back of the CD case should be fired. I thought that there were 2 bonus tracks on here because Hymn 1 & 2 aren't listed on the back.
Anthrax and Youtube are assholes. First off i've had my account deleted for putting up a few of there tracks. So i figured enh what the hell i'll actually BUY the CD, (which i never do) and stick it on my PC, then on here. Well come to find out Anthrax have pulled a Carlos Santana, in which they put Bandlink software on the CD to track you, and where/what you do with the music. Thats fucking BULLSHIT. FUCK YOU and your stupid record company Anthrax, and FUCK YOUTUBE!! I won't post SHIT again!!
@Tarkess I don't blame them per say, but bands do have input when it comes to those decisions. I was in a signed band, and we were kept arpise of all decisions about our music. But yeah it's more so the record company and youtube. Oh well.
@CoolCoverBro i know right? the album's ok...but where's the catchy riffs these guys used to crank out every album (and YES, I am also referring to the albums with Bush). I know they weren't so great with him, but at least they had groove. "What Doesn't Die" from the last album sounded better than most of this album.
@youisiaint I completely agree, sound of white noise, and even wcfya (originality wise) was much better than this. Joey sounds out of place in this album, the guitar is way too downtuned for anthrax, all of the innovation, and party thrash anthrax was known for is non existent in this album.
@CoolCoverBro It sounds like they're trying to appeal to these next-gen "rock star" metal heads, you know the ones, they're like 19-21 years old who listen to metalcore and wear "vintage" metal shirts from Hot Topic and have about 300 tattoos and ear gauges and say "brutal" every sentence. It's like they wanted younger kids to know about Anthrax while still being accessible to them musically.
It has taken 17 years for me to actually mean the words I am about to type. THE 'THRAX IS BACK!!! I have been listening to Anthrax since I was 8, 9 years old (I'm 31 now) and this is the closest thing to classic Anthrax there is (until their next album) over the years I've moved to heavier, faster, and more aggressive music, but this makes me feel like a kid again. I snagged a signed drum head from Charlie used in the recording of this album, its going up on my wall.
YES!!!!!!! - THE NEW ALBUM IS MEAN, CLEAN AND COMMANDS RESPECT. I CANNOT EXPLAIN THE FEELING OF ENCAPSULATION OF THE MY SOUL THIS BAND DELIVERS :-) :-)
after giving it a few listens now i'd rank the album like this: 1. in the end 2. fight em till you cant 3. crawl 4. judas priest 5. earth on hell 6. devil you know 7. im alive 8. revolution screams 9. the giant 10. the constant
Yes I did download the album......to get it early. I plan on buying it right when I get up before I go to college on tuesday, and blasting it in my car the whole way there. This album is amazing, especially the cover of New Noise by Refused. Seems like something made for bush or Nelson, but OMG Joey makes it his own version and its completely mind blowing, And in Crawl Joey sings really low: you can barely tell its him, then he goes back to his normal voice. the whole album is amazing!
i agree 100%, im 33, ive been buying cd's since i was 13, got over 900. no burns. all origional,. true fans buy cd's,and support bands. F**K fake posers who down load
I think most of what I've heard (sampled) here sounds good. I've no idea however why so many comparisons to Persistence of Time are drawn. Personally, I hated that album. This one - at first impression contains a lot more variety and BALLS. Anyway, there goes my unsolicited 2cents worth. Peace
I actually think Sound Of White Noise is a great album, but Worship Music is without doubt, the best Anthrax album since Persistance! Its a perfect blend of the Joey and John Bush eras with the melodic qualities of Spreading The Disease. Awesome stuff, and welcome back Joey! xD
I loved John Bush era and I have to say Joey B is much better than I thought he would be - I think it kicks ASS and the songs are well up there with earlier stuff
The album is diverse, a little to much in certain cases. Earth on Hell-Heavy Thrash The Devil You Know-(Not good)Hard Rock Fightem-Old School Thrash I'm Alive-(Not Good) Hard Rockish In The End-John Bush Era(Good) The Giant-Semi-Old School-Poppy Chorus Judas Priest-Cheese(crap) Crawl-(ballad, total crap) The Constant-Straight Rock(total Crap) Revolution Screams(had potential, turns to crap) very bland, boring song. My Rating 5/10 stars. Or 2 1/2 out of 5. Either way.
Better watch for the Web Sheriff dude, they took down Crawl from another guy. I tried putting up Trivium when it came out, and they warned me once, then said my account would be deleted etc. If i did it again. Youtube is cracking down.
Earth On Hell, Fight'em, The Giant, the only good songs. I'm an old school Thrax fan. Never ever liked the years of the Bush. Sorry thumbs down for to many slower mainstream sounding boring song. :( Got the album from Piratebay btw. Let the bashing on me begin lol. ;o)
@Mr7Ham Its a good "song" per say. Just not for Joey etc. But these songs were pre written long ago, so if they ever do another, perhaps it will be more thashy.:) Funny critics are saying "album of the year" "best album they have ever done" etc. I'm like whoa, reverse, not quite lol. Odd
seems to be the best Anthrax release in a damn while, Belladonna's return was a must. I really liked the the first single Fight 'em til you can't but not much the second one, The Devil you Know. From what I hear there, Earth on Hell and The Giant seem to be some great songs, but I'm not as much convinced about the rest, still I need to fully listen it before the final verdict.
God damn I can barely find any shit from Worship Music on youtube with all this copyright bullshit. So based on the preview I got from this video it unds killer. I'll possibly buy it one day.

I think most of what I've heard (sampled) here sounds good. I've no idea however why so many comparisons to Persistence of Time are drawn. Personally, I hated that album. This one - at first impression contains a lot more variety and BALLS. Anyway, there goes my unsolicited 2cents worth. Peace

Killer. A little slow, though I like Joey's Halford imitation.

That riff for In the End is just fucking sexy.

Either way.
jerm26554 6 months ago
Better watch for the Web Sheriff dude, they took down Crawl from another guy. I tried putting up Trivium when it came out, and they warned me once, then said my account would be deleted etc. If i did it again. Youtube is cracking down.
jerm26554 6 months ago
Although Joey sounds pretty damn good. :)
jerm26554 6 months ago
Earth On Hell, Fight'em, The Giant, the only good songs. I'm an old school Thrax fan. Never ever liked the years of the Bush. Sorry thumbs down for to many slower mainstream sounding boring song. :( Got the album from Piratebay btw. Let the bashing on me begin lol. ;o)
jerm26554 6 months ago
@jerm26554 c'mon you gotta admit at least that The Devil you Know is at least half decent

@jerm26554
in the end is pretty killer
Mr7Ham 6 months ago
