I have a 08 dodge dully with the black maxx programer, S and D cold air intake, 5'' exahust with 6" tip, can u tell me how to put a smoke switch on it?? it smokes some with the programmer set on hot but not like i would like it to smoke nor will it smoke at idle hopefully the smoke switch will help

@TheColoradoanMike i just bought a "cortex superchip" for my cummins last week and i love it. costs around $450 without the monitor/gauges but it boosts right around 170hp. well worth it. decent amount of smoke also. however if your looking for smoke go with a smarty. performance go bullydog/edge/superchip. just my oppinion. goodluck

@GarrettKeetley it tricks the computer into thinking your truck is running full boost so the computer reacts by adding adjusting the map curve to add more fuel. But in reality your not running full boost so now you have alot of fuel and not much air so that creats excess smoke. No real power gains, just a little fun.

Oh and to the people complaining about the warranty. If we can afford a 50k truck, a 5-6k lift 1k worth of gauges, another grand worth of tuner, 5-600 for the exhause another 100 for the egr deletes then another 3k worth of wheels and tires I think someone can afford to get something fixed. And if it breaks then you needed to replace it anyways. It was a weak link.

@Swrtzjstn12 Well yes and no. People have been getting into the 12's with just a programer and deletes. In stock form hell no. the 5.9 is a great motor and in stock form these things will last forever, with the 6.7 in stock form it will destroy itself before you can tear it up. The tranny is also better in the 6.7 vs the earlier 3rd gen. 05 and 06 have the good tranny too I think. I'm not a 5.9 guru. I am beating mis 13 sec sports cars like mach 1's and ls1 gto's, mustang gt's and lancer evo's.

im still really partial to the 5.9 over the 6.7. I dont think that Cummins can produce an engine that will be more reliable, easier to maintain, and easier (and cheaper) to modify for HUGE power than a P-Pumped 12 valve

I could careless about a warranty. Im pretty sure im happy with my 600+ horse power im making so i need no extra. I do all the work to my truck my self, and obviously you know nothing about "POS programers" nor Diesels because if you did then you would know that they dont eat them selves... And registeration has nothing to do with emissions, that would fall under an inspections which is very easy to pass. I sense a bit of jealousy coming from you.. Im sorry you cant afford a 50,000.00 truck.

i believe so, you have to be careful when removing the emissions controls because it could end up throwing a code and possibly putting the truck into limp mode.

they dont run at full power, i believe the automatics wont go into some gears. Most programmers can keep the truck from going into limp mode though

How did you keep the lightning bolt and trans light from coming on? I get these lights after 10sec of the switch being on. Used 10watt 100 ohm resistors, have smarty and boost fooler as well.
