das ist das erste video was ich von den sehe, weil mein Gitarrenlehrer sie mir empfohlen hat. Er hat gesagt das sind richtig gute Gitarristen... und er hat recht
I understand your point, however my view remains. As a poor guitarist I would love to have the ability, but speed alone is not the be all and end all. I love the work of Miles Davis and he can take you to the depth of despair and then lift you to great heights, just through playing one note.
In Blues, Clapton great technical ability, but Peter Green has the 'feel'. Listen to Django's version again. Hear the 'Feel' .
For me true jazz has that 'feel' at the heart of expression.
Brilliant and accomplished guitar playing, but do you really need to put so many notes into one bar of music. Frankly I got bored with listening to it. Just look at how fast I can play, is not the same as heres my interpretation of a piece of music. It almost became unrecognisable !!!
Listen to Django's versions, he plays fast when he feels the need to, but the beauty is in the expression and often in the limited use of notes. Takes more than technical ability to be a good guitarist
@Fensmiller there is climax, then the tension grows. I love it. Django started the style, Rosenberg Trio, Angelo Debarre, Birelli Lagrene and rest expanded it. Of course you don't need to put so many notes in one bar but it's jazz, you are free to do so if that is what you feel at that particular moment.
@Fensmiller It's the last song in their set. No one plays a slow number for the last song! The last song is always an exhibition piece! If you're telling the world Stochelo plays without feeling then you've already shown your ignorance, so it's needless for me to point it out really. Stochelo's probably played this piece 10,000 times and guaranteed it's different every time, tempo, feel etc.
I would sell a kidney or lung to have one of those guitars, I finally got to play on one that i magically found at some random shop, but there's no way i can afford it. They look and sound so beauitful...
