  • Just a wet minor wind storm

  • Very interesting. This reminds me of conditions in Hurricane Frances. And to think, this was a WEAK category TWO. I can't imagine how awful Andrew was as a Cat 4/5.

  • @MrSapphire

The reason Ike did so much damage, was that the hurricane-force winds were spread out almost the entire width of the storm, which was itself incredibly huge. Even the strongest hurricanes, Andrew included, had the highest winds in a rather small area near the eyewall.

  • @Jerkwad152 Not entirely, Andrew's bands featured Category 1 strength winds, but it was a more concentrated storm. Ike did cover a generally greater area over land with hurricane force winds, but relative to the storm itself, despite being more compact, Andrew had a range of hurricane winds all along it, with Cat 5 winds at the eyewall.

  • I was in Pasadena. This was very scary. The winds were so intense esp the back side.

  • hurricane ike was my birthday present for that year

  • and thats the west end of the storm, get on the east side first coming in.

  • i live in friendswood and they said there were tornados in our area. my house was destroyed. our neighbors and everybody else on our street has just a few missing shingles and trees down.

  • it was soooo fun to go out in this and trying to stand up! but the rain felt like getting shot with a paintball gun once every second.

  • i remember going through the eye of ike in baytown... truly hell on earth

  • i remember trying to wind surf with a tarp and a skateboard during ike....

  • I know Hurricane Ike was a memorable storm, but the rain radar doesn't suprise me at all.

  • i live in Clear Lake and my house was destoyed nothing but wood scattered the ground and i was in the house at the time but i am ok

2: beutiful?????????? did ur mum drop u on the head or summit??

  • A bit hit me in kentucky it was wonderful but horrible at the sametime. I rode my bike without pettling it was pretty fun. But it knocked out our power for like 3 days. But not long after that we had an icestorm which knocked our power out for like a week. But outside during the icestorm was horrifing. *crack* *icesickles falling* *BOOM* and every crack you just waited and hoped that the branch would'nt hit your house. It was almost impossible to sleep.

  • I live in Clear Lake, had a bunch of fun durring the hurricane. My uncle and I went out in the middle of the rain felt like neddles. But the scary part is we couldn't see down the street we where standing in the middle of. Good times, goid times.

  • I was in the hurrican and all i was able to say was Happy 100th year. If you heard of the hurricane that happened about 100 years ago you will know what i mean.
