Apparently nobody who lists these top 10s has ever played EQ2. I have played WoW, and EQ2 wins hands down every time. The only drawback about EQ2 is its high price. But, if you can afford it, give it a try before you even talk about the best mmorpgs.

Eh its simple when u reach max lvl in wow its always cool to lvl another character and twink it at the old caps such as 60 70 not much 80 since ur 5 lvls away from cap and do some battlegrounds. if u play it like 3 days a week it wont get boring it gets boring when ur on it 24/7 :P

I think that WoW is really a great game, BUT, wow has it's downsides too. WoW was once a great game, and I remember when I started playing it (on a private server), I was really curious to explore the world. I was stunned by some places I could recognize from warcraft 3. It was all good until I first time reached maximum level. From that point wow becomes really boring, and there is nothing to do in it anymore. Of course you can do some dungeons for gear but there is no real point...
Professions suck too. They are made so you don't really use them. I understand that the concept of proffs in wow is about getting money, but really, when you get to max level, you realize there is no real point on wasting time on them. Hopelessly, blizzard made a few expansions, and fucked up the game even more. Adding only one class, or only 2 races does nothing... they could do more for that. WoW is a good game for it's fluidity, but heavily depends on warcraft 3 fans.
After everything, world of warcraft still is popular game, but it will never go higher than these 13 milion players. Blizzard for some reasons doesn't do the best, and they can. After a good amount of time playing wow, I realized that the concept is not the same thing anymore. They killed the best characters from warcraft 3 (Illidan, Lich King), and if they continue to do that, they will just fail. Well, that's what I had to say. Wow is great game, could be even better after all.
@ZJMasashi Couldn't agree more, once the WC3 story was officially over it at the end of WotLK it felt like the game had passed its peak. It feels like they are just throwing idea's out of a hat now, dumbing the game down even more all the time for players who waste a £10er a month to play for 3 days or for kids who are incapable of reading for 1 minute. WC3 is over in the WoW story, any other WC3 fans i suggest you turn away quick before you watch it burn before your eyes.

Heres my opinion, if everyone in the world knows wow then that obviously makes it one of the best if not the best mmo seeing as how everyone is basing all other games off of wow or some are saying wow sucks, some people are apparently not taking into account that not only does WOW have a ginormous player base but all of those people are paying for the game monthly, so for 12 million people to be playing for the game every moth must mean the game is good, or are they all just paying for nothing.

The first few lvl of lotro is born but once ur a high lvl it's fun wow shouldn't be 1st it sucks completely the culture and it's not even fun until 80 . Lotro has better culture and the gameplay is fun but I don't recommend it for ppl who do pvp.

Heres my opinion, if everyone in the world knows wow then that obviously makes it one of the best if not the best mmo seeing as how everyone is basing all other games off of wow or some are saying wow sucks, some people are apparently not taking into account that not only does WOW have a ginormous player base but all of those people are paying for the game monthly, so for 12 million people to be playing for the game every moth must mean the game is good, or are they all just paying for nothing.

I believe that WoW is so big because it is simplistic. A game where it does not take no skill. Not to mention that every MMORPG that comes out with normal rpg system WoW players would whine about it being a WoW clone because they're minds are brainwashed into thinking it is the best mmorpg out there. I would prefer Dungeons and Dragons Online.

@JohnsonSteward It does have PVP. You can challenge others to duals or having guild wars. What's wrong with dungeons? You would rather run through a forest grinding for hours than going through a underground temple with traps to dodge & many monsters to fight? wow...

Yea, like in Age of Conan, you need skill, like in WH you need skill, like in Guild Wars you need skill maybe Everquest 2 where player with mastercrafting skill kill 10 levels higher players bec of gear. WOW have best pvp from all this games and i have all of them. Maybe Guild Wars 2 will change that or SWTOR, TERA, but for now is that best MMORPG on market. 12 M players now lol.

The first few lvl of lotro is born but once ur a high lvl it's fun wow shouldn't be 1st it sucks completely the culture and it's not even fun until 80 . Lotro has better culture and the gameplay is fun but I don't recommend it for ppl who do pvp.

1. It's created by a huge gaming company like Blizzard
2. it's easymode and has low system requirements
3. it has a cartoony feel and lots of PvE things to do
4. it's based of Warcraft which has been around for awhile
The reason why people trash WoW is because it's dumbed down for the masses with crappy or very little PvP action
No serious MMO gamer considers WoW to be number 1 only WoW players feel that way

@TheRiverlight no I played WoW for 4 years was in a top US Server Raiding guild and my guild was the first on our server to complete OS25 man and I got the first tier 7.5 Mage Gloves .... with over 2300 sp
so don't make to judge me and say I'm just some hater who hasn't played WoW ... my rogue was considered one of the better rogues Classic/TBC.... and I own 2 copies of the Collector's Edition TBC and 1 Copy of the WoTLK CE and original WoW .....

the only challenge is getting gear from bosses that once mastered end up being farmfests do you know how many MC gear we trashed in Original WoW?
