I dont care what idiots on here say. I liked him on the show, but really thats what we know of him, is from TV, I really wouldn't start knocking his personal life. The poor guy is dead, and left a family behind, that is sad no matter who you are or where you came from.
If he was such a bad father, why would his sons choose to work for him and no one else? And he was married for awhile...he only talked about divorce a few years ago, so Jake and Josh wouldn't have needed support by then. Perhaps he was married more than once though, I could be wrong. And he did cut down on his smoking. He went from 8-10 packs a day to 4. And there are tons of people out there in the world smoking way more.
And you don't think that smoking cigarettes has any effect on cardiovascular health? Smoking will definitely contribute to a stroke, if that is what he had. High blood pressure leads to heart attacks and strokes and cigarettes cause the hardening of the blood vessels and increase in BP which can cause what I just mentioned. That's why if you got good health, why ruin it? I got high BP since I was a teenager and I eat healthy, don't smoke, don't drink, and still I cannot get rid of it.

@robertjohnson487 normally I wouldn't comment on some idiot's remarks, but I wonder how much money one needs to make not to be a "loser"? He is/was a multi-millionaire and very much liked by fans of the show. He had a vice with cigarettes, and so did my grandfather who lived to 95 years old. Some people die of strokes and never smoked at all, so to label him a loser for smoking shows how stupid you really are and also how big a TROLL you are. And, your biggest accomplishment in life.
