Pokemon Diamond was the 1st one I played, and when I was still a noob I found Giratina's lake by accident and was like "Was this always here?... I musta missed it or something!" Then I found Giratina and it was like omg teh epicness what IS that thing??? After a few hrs I caught it in an Ultraball (thought they were the best) and it's now my fav pokemon. He's just so epic! My bro deleted my file though... SO HAPPY to have him back on my new team!

@howru2121 I'll tell you what Heatran's purpose is: to be among the most worthless Legendaries of all time. Nintendo throws around the term "legendary" like it doesn't even matter anymore. I preferred it back in RBY and GSC when you only had a few Legendary Pokemon. It wasn't such a pain in the ass to get them all and they actually felt like they were of legend. Not that the new Gens haven't created some cool Legendary Pokemon, notably Groudon, Darkrai, and Genesect, but it's not the same.

the reason heatrans gender can change is probably a way of saying there is more than one, and that it isn't a unique legendary like arceus or giratina. som are like that, like the birds you can find in kanto, but find them three years later again in kanto AND in Sinnoh
